Kimora's POV

After our little confession session, we stood up and was about to head out. Just then Jay stopped me.

"Listen, I don't want the guys to know about this just yet. They know I'm not great at relationships and if they found out about us. They'll make fun of me and I need..."

I kissed him once again to shut him up.

"I understand."

He smiled and opened the door. Right when...

"Detective Oh... And Detective Diamond? What...What are you guys doing in the storage closet? Diamond, why are you out of the apartment?"

Officer Kwon had just walked by right when Jay opened the door.

"Umm... She came to tell me something important. Also, she's back on the case."

Jay quickly mumbled and ran off, leaving a shocked Kwon and me.

"You're back on the case?"

"I guess so."

I walked back with Kwon to the office. Upon entering, I was bombarded by fellow members of the station. Everyone came in to hug me. All were walling and crying.

"Oh, Detective Diamond. You're back."

"We missed you so much."

I was so touched by their comments.

"Guys, thank you for missing me so much. But we should really focus on the case."

They all pulled away and wiped their faces.

"So what have I missed?"

"Nothing. You shouldn't be here Detective Diamond."

I turned to see the Commissioner. I fell to my knees.

"Sir, I understand your concern about my safety. But I was sent here to assist you in your case. Even if my life depends on it, I want to help in any way. Please let me."

He huffed

"I did say you were a tough gal. Don't make me regret my decision."

I bowed.

"Thank you, Sir."

After a long day at work. We were able to identify Mr. Min and add him to the list of victims. I sat in a chair and looked at all the information we had on the board. Photos of each victim, photos of me, all the threat letters I received but no leads on the killer at all. As I sat and thought to myself, I felt a presence near. I turned to see Jay sitting on the desk behind me.

"What are you doing?"

"You looked deep in thought and I didn't want to disturb you."

I stood and walked over to him. Everyone else was gone, so I felt comfortable with him. I walked between his legs and draped my arms around his shoulders. He placed his hands on my waist.

"I still don't want you on this case, you know that right?"

"Yeah, but what choice do you have? I'm always going to get involved."

He smiled and pulled me down for a kiss.

"Come on Diamond. Let's go home."

He drove us home and we entered his apartment.

"SHOWER!"

I ran right past him and into the bathroom. Next, I heard knocking on the door

"You better not use all the hot water."

"I won't. Plus I like cold showers."

"Maybe I can join you and steam it up."

"In your dream. You'll have to buy me a drink first."

"Why, you're already in my home and sleeping in my bed."

I couldn't think of anything else. He had a point. I was crashing at his place for the time being.

"No."

Jaehwa's POV

"You better not use all the hot water."

"I won't. Plus I like cold showers."

"Maybe I can join you and steam it up."

"In your dream. You'll have to buy me a drink first."

"Why, you're already in my home and sleeping in my bed."

She fell silent after that. I knew I got to her but still waited for a response.

"No."

And with that, I walked away. I walked into my room and grabbed some clothes for tomorrow then grabbed a pair of sweats. I've always hated sleeping in shirts because I tend to get hot really quick. I sprawled out on my bed, waiting for Kimora to get out. I closed my eyes when I hear a crash from the bathroom. Jumping up, I quickly made my way to the door.

"Kimora are you okay?"

There was no response.

"Kimora!"

Nothing.

"I'm going to bust the door open."

Just when I was about to ram the door.

"I'm fine. I'm fine. I just slipped... Just give me a minute."

A couple of minutes later she stepped out. Wet hair, oversized sweatshirt, and leggings. I looked her over and saw no markings on her.

"What happened?"

"I guess there was some soap that I didn't see and happened to step in it when coming out."

She smiled and walked from me. I grabbed my clothes and walked inside the bathroom. Turning on the water, I walked around to make sure there wasn't anything that could have scared her. No bugs, no random pictures, nothing. I wonder what made her jump? After my shower, I walked back into the room. She was sitting away from the door, facing the window. I walked around, but she seemed to be in a daze. Blankly staring off at nothing. I sat in front of her and still no movement. So I moved my hand to place it on her's.

"Kimora."

She jumped and pulled her hand away from mine. Looking into her eyes, there was a state of shock writing in them. She quickly stood up and walked towards the windows. I could hear her breath as she tried not to cry and calm down.

"Kimora, what's wrong? And don't lie to me saying that it's nothing."

I walked behind her and embraced her.

"I was supposed to be here for a month. Get here, help solve the case and leave. It's been a month and a half, and I ended up being a target in a mass serial killing. I was supposed to help the Choi's with the arrangements of Miranda's Death for her 10th anniversary. I forgot everything and lost myself in this case that I can't even be there for her."

Miranda was her best friend if I remember. She was murdered, guessing 10 years ago, and never solved.

"When is her anniversary?"

"In four weeks. On Friday. We were going to have a really nice Memorial for her in honor. She was amazing. You would have liked her."

I wrapped my arms around her and placed my chin on the top of her head as we looked out the window. She snuggled into my hard chest as I brushed her hair out of view.

"Let's go to bed."

I turn from her and went to head to bed when she pulled on my arm.

"Wait."

I looked back at her when she pulled my head down to made contact with my lips. We fought for dominance as both of our tongues invaded each other's mouth. I was beginning to feel cramp. My tall stature compared to her shorter self was bringing pain to my neck. So I stood taller, bringing her off the floor to wrap her legs around my hips. Once stable I wrapped my arms around her slim waist and walked to my bedroom.
