Kimora's POV

"Kimora, you will be removed from this investigation."

I looked into his eyes, knowing that this was coming.

"I understand."

He kissed my forehead and laid my head back down. I could feel him shake as he tried to hold back his tears. We got up and dried off to get ready to leave. I slipped on Jay's sweatshirt and my leggings, as he put on his sweatpants and a tee. He grabbed my hand, and we made our way back to the office. As we approached the office, all the noise from the men was cut from our ears. When we walked through those doors, all eyes were on us.

"As of today, Detective Diamond with be removed from this case. Officers Kwon and Jung will escort her back to my apartment. Officers Kim, Im, and Nam's unit will stand guard outside the building, the Entrance, and the hallway. Check everyone that comes into that Complex. We are not going to let a single person get to Detective Diamond. As of now, she is the number one target in this investigation, and we have to make sure that she is safe."

"Yes, Sir!"

Looking at all the men, I came to love and treat like family, all standing tall as they salute to their Boss. Tears were starting to coat their eyes as the news of me in the midst of possibly being hurt, made my heart ache so badly. I blinked my tears away as Jay continued.

"As for those who don't know yet, Diamond and I are together. I promise, as your Boss and colleague, that I will not let my emotions get in the way of this investigation. I understand that she is your friend, but we must not let this get to us. We will have to keep each other up so that we don't jeopardize her safety. If you can forgive me for not telling you sooner, I hope that you will still trust me as your Superior."

Then he bows in a 90 degrees bow towards his Juniors. I froze in shock as he confesses to our little secret. I hear a clap, then another, looking over to the men, clapping with a smile on their faces. Soon hollars and whistles filled the air.

"We could tell." "We wondered when this would happen." "Good job, Diamond, for taming the beast."

Everyone was happy to see that their Boss, a man who lost trust in love, found love again. He stood back up and looked me in the eyes. Then without warning, hugs me. The smell of his shower gel brings joy to my heart. After our little speech, I was taken back to the apartment with Kwon and Jung. On the car ride there, Jung decided to play some music, flipping through the channels until Blackpink's DDu- Du DDu-Du came on, and Jung was all about it.

"Hit you with DDu-Du DDu-Du. Ah yeah, ah yeah."

Kwon was quick to change the channel

"I don't think that's the right song for this situation."

After another station change and Killing Me by Ikon came on. Safe to say the rest of the car ride was silent. We arrived at the apartment, and I was escorted by officers already sent to guard. I walked into the empty apartment and sat on the couch. Thinking of all the things that happened within this short trip, multiple murders, Mai being one, falling in love, now I became a victim. I stood up to make some food. Walking into the kitchen, I whipped up some spaghetti and grabbed a glass of wine. After cooking, I took a bowl and glass into the bathroom and drew a bath. Sitting the bowl of spaghetti on the counter and added some bath salts and my favorite bubble bath as the tub filled up. Once full, I stripped my clothes and slid into the hot bath, reaching over to grab my bowl of food. I let the heat consume my body and mind as I ate. After I finished my food, I just sat in the tub as I continued to drink my wine. I heard a knock at the closed door.

"Ma'am, I just wanted to check on you. Are you doing fine?"

"Yes, I am. Thank you for doing this. I know that you have other things to do other than to protect me."

I heard him chuckle, and I brought my knees to my chest.

"No, I should thank you. Because of you, my Granddaughter wants to become a cop. She said that you are a brave woman and inspired her to become a strong and brave cop like you. So thank you for inspiring a young woman to be brave. I'll make sure that you're safe so that you can see her once day."

I felt my tears run down my face, and a smile broke through.

"You're welcome."

An hour went by, and I finally got out of the bathroom. Walking out with a towel around my figure, I grabbed one of Jay's shirt and draped it over my body. His scent encases my senses as I stood in that spot for a minute. I walked over to the door and told the officers that I was heading to bed. Curling up on the bed and holding onto Jay's pillow, I fell asleep with Jay's scent all around me.

Jaehwa's POV

I was able to finish my work fast and was about to head home.

"Jay, were you able to file all the cases involved?"

The Commissioner cut me off. I pouted and shook my body like a child.

"Sir, I promise to do that tomorrow. I just want to get home."

The Commissioner shook his head and laughs.

"Fine. Head home and be careful."

I turned around and walked to the elevators when he spoke up again.

"Have a clear mind for her. Okay, Jay."

I looked at him and bowed slightly.

" Yes, Sir."

I ran out and hopped into my car, rushing to get home. I want to hold her. Tell her that everything is going to be okay. That I will protect her. I don't know when I arrived, but I was quick to jump out of my car and run-up. Upon arriving, there were three guards standing by the front door. I bowed to them and walked in, this time two guards at each elevator door. I got on the elevator and went up to my floor. When stepping off, two stood outside my door. I flashed them my card and unlocked the door to step in. It was dark in the apartment, all the lights are out, and no sounds were heard. I glanced at the clock on the stove, 12:45. Was it really that late? I sat my stuff down on the couch and walked towards my room. Kimora was asleep, curled up with my pillow, and my shirt. I walked towards her and brushed my fingers through her hair. She shifted a bit, bringing her leg up around the pillow, exposing her naked skin. Kissing her forehead, I turned and grabbed my sweats and a towel. I walked into the bathroom to see a bowl and glass on the counter. I chuckled to myself, picturing her eating in the tub. I turned on the shower and hopped right in. The heat engulfed my senses and was quick to wash away today's stress. After a couple of minutes, I got out and dried off. Slipping on my sweats, I walked back into the room. I sat on the corner of the bed and dried my hair. I felt the bed shift and arms wrapped around my waist. That instant, her scent rose to my nose. I looked over at her, sleep still in her eyes as she gave me a tired smile.

"Why are you still up?"

"Because I know I wouldn't see you in the morning."

I smiled at her comment.

"Well, I'm here now."

I pulled her up to my chest and laid back into the pillows. She made herself comfortable and was dragged back to her sleep.

"I will always be here."

I kissed her forehead and closed my eyes. Holding her close to my body. Sleep quickly took over.
