Kimora's POV

"Hello... Another one... Yes, we'll be there... Yes."
I felt Jay move, but I was so tired. Slowly opening my eyes, I saw Jay rubbing his face and heard him sigh heavily. I rolled away from him to try to sleep some more, but he laid on top of me. I was pulled the sheets over my face before he attacked me with kisses.
"We have to get up."
"I don't want too."
"I know, but we have to."
"What time is it?"
"2:30 in the morning. There was another murder. We need to go."
I sat up with sleep in my eyes. I glanced over to Jay, who seemed to be distracted. So I looked down to see that I was still naked. Grabbing a pillow, I smacked it against his face.
"Yay!"
He just chuckled and got up. He stood up, naked and proud. I gulped. Then he walked out of the room. The images from last night played in my head, and I felt the heat rise to my cheeks, and the waterworks begin again.
"Come on. We don't have time.
"Yeah yeah, old man."
I slipped out of bed, bending over to pick up my sweatshirt when I felt a slap to my butt.
"That's not what you said last night."
I blushed and shoved him back on the bed and ran out.
"We don't have time, remember."
~After awhile~
We arrived at the crime scene. It seems to be a downtown area with a lot of business development buildings around, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I've seen this place before.
"The victim was discovered at 2:15 by local officers in this area. The victim is a 29-year-old woman. Black hair and fair skin. No visible markings from the first glance, but we'll see after forensics takes a look. Jay lifted the caution tape and let me pass. Upon entering the scene, flashes of the first time I watched Miranda's photoshoot interrupts my view. I blinked the image away to see a woman sitting on a bench. She wore a light brown suit with white heels. Some type of brace held her head up without being seen at a quick glance. I walked up to the woman and made a note of everything I saw. The next moment left me speechless. On her left wrist was the missing silver bracelet I gave Miranda, that was lost the day she died. I walked back and remembered everything from that day.
~I stood off to the side as my friend Miranda, did her photoshoot.
"Okay, Miranda, look up here. Nice. Let's take a break."
Miranda stood up and walked over to me.
"So what do you think. Think you can do it."
"I don't know. It seems really demanding."
She placed her arm around my shoulder, her silver bracelet blinding me.
"Look, I know you can do it. You just look into that camera and say 'You can't have me.'"
I laughed at her phrase.
"Listen, Kimora. Tomorrow, I will give you this suit as a gift for trying something new and always be in control. This is your suit of armor, and no one will break you. Understand?"
I nodded and smiled.~
The flashback faded, and I let out a quivering sigh.
"Diamond, you okay? You spaced out."
