Jaehwa's POV

I glanced up at the monitor. Her heartbeat was picking back up. Moving out of the way to let the doctors work, I stood by her parents. I looked at their shaking bodies and held them. Both were crying at the sudden shock from their daughter.

*Two days later

Since that day, Kimora was taken off the breathing tube and now had a mask. She was able to breathe on her own but still not awake. We were advised to help move her arms for the time being, so they won't weaken. We would massage her body and help wash her when needed. We've been at the hospital for over a week, and her health was improving every day, so I decided to take her parents out for dinner. They ate nothing but hospital food, and I wanted to treat them to a better meal. I took then to the same BBQ place that I took Kimora to.

"Oh, it's lovely here."

"Kimora really liked it here."

I smiled at the memory as I stirred up the stew.

"And she'll enjoy it again."

I nodded at her father's comment. Later that night, I was back in my spot next to her bed. Her mom had bought some yellow nail polish, claiming it was Kimora's favorite color. So here I was, painting her small and delicate fingernails. I had to shape them up too. The color was such a bright color that I swore it was glowing. Once finished, I blew on her hands to let them dry. Looking up at her face, which was almost back to normal. There was some swelling still, but the bruises were completely gone. I bought her a face mask and applied it to her face. Her lips looked a bit chapped, so I put some Chapstick on as well.

"Such a Beauty."

*The next day

Doctors came in and checked her legs. They removed the cast and examined them.

"They are healing nicely. I'm surprised. There's going to be scars but not as bad as I thought. Right now, we're going g to leave them out for the time being. Wash them and dry them. Then maybe we can try some movement and try to reawaken the nerves."

We thanked them as they walked out. Her parents walked over to Kimora's body and smiled.

"They say sleep is the best healing medication. Maybe with her fast recovery, she'll wake up soon."

"I'm ready to see my babygirl's eyes again."

Both of her parents were happy as can be. I walked out of the room to see Kwon and Jung. Both had something in their hands.

"How is she?"

I just embraced them and laughing.

"Docs say that her body is healing faster than normal, but maybe she's ready to wake up soon."

They both smiled at my comment and hugged me back. The three of us walked to the Café, as her parents helped bathe her.

"I hope that she wakes soon. Everyone misses her at the Station."

"Same here, Jung. Even the Commissioner is a bit down these days."

"Has there been any news from NYPD?"

"Yeah, um... The Commissioner actually sent her parents here. Got them the tickets and paid for the expenses of the trip. Everyone here and there is donating as well to help pay the medical bills. She can wake knowing that we're here for her."
