Blackbear - Do Re Mi

*

Avery Donavon sat on the desk, listening to Clarke bargaining with Diyoza. "I don't care how you make it happen, Clarke. Kill Octavia is you have to. Bring her to me in chains, and I'll do it for you, or she can surrender herself, but your red queen doesn't seem like the type." Diyoza told Clarke. Avery looked up at her before standing up properly.

"Let us worry about that." Clarke replied.

Diyoza glanced to Avery, knowing she was edging to talk to Clarke before she handed her the radio. "Hey, Clarke." she said with a small smile.

"Avery," Clarke said, surprised before smiling.  "Hey."

"Listen, we don't have time for pleasantries at this point as much as I'd like to." she began, talking quickly so she wouldn't move off topic. "We've got two very obvious problems with this plan. One, If Octavia's anything like me then she won't go down easy. Especially with this whole blodreina situation. To say the least, it's bullshit but the people believe in her so this must be something. It means that she will have men at her side every step of the day, which makes your job a million times harder." she told her. "Two, is Bellamy okay with this?"

"Avery," Clarke began. "If this is the way then we need to hurry up and persue it. You need to stop worrying about us and worry about you and looking after the others. I'll deal with Bellamy, he'll be fine with it eventually."

"With killing his only blood relative?" Avery asked. She looked to the side, knowing she was right. "Make sure Bell agrees, then I will and if you do, make it quick." she told her, frowning before handing the radio back to Diyoza and turning her face away. Six years ago she would've died for Octavia and now she's agreeing to kill her.

Diyoza turned to the girl before glancing back to the radio. "We have an understanding, then."

Clarke confirmed. "We do."

"Good." Diyoza smiled. "Call me back when it's done, and we can work out the details of your crossing. Over and out." Diyoza looked back to Avery who was biting her bottom lip nervously. "Will your friend keep her word?"

Avery looked back up before cutting her eyes away. "Yes." she began. "Clarke has never lied to me and I can usually tell when she is. Clarke Griffin's a saint." she spoke before chuckling.

Diyoza nodded back before walking closer to her. "How's your face doing?"

"Could be better." Avery replied before standing up and walking backwards.

Diyoza clenched her jaw. "I had to make a point of you." she began.

Avery's eyes moved off the floor to Diyoza, stopping in her tracks. "Do you realise why I'm angry? I don't care that you made a point of me, I probably deserved it but did you have to make a point of Shaw?" the engineer shot back. "He's getting beaten and electrocuted every single day by his own people. That hurts, Diyoza, and from someone who's been tortured and drilled into and has watched my every single member inof family die in front of my eyes, I know that your people are only making it worse."

Diyoza listened carefully. "I'm not suggesting that you should exonerate him, I'm only saying that if this continues this then eventually you'll have no pilot to fly this damn spaceship."

She stood up fully, walking out of the door. "I'm going to my people, give a shout if you need me." she said on her way out.

She passed the village, the prisoners around her glancing up at the sight of her before going back to their work. A man with a shock collar around his neck, approached Avery. She furrowed her eyebrows at him. "Avery Donavon?"
