At Kieran's wake, there is bright music, and everyone is partying like it's something to celebrate.

I'm simply walking around, looking for someone to hang with that I know. I didn't know Kieran well, but being at his wake is strange, considering I didn't know him, and Cami and I aren't close.

The only reason I'm really here is because Klaus insisted it wasn't safe or okay to let me at the compound by myself.

So here I am, a glass of water in hand, and watching everyone party like it's Mardi Gras.

Suddenly, I see Cami storm out of the back room, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Cami," I call to her. She looks up, and walks over.

I then see Francesca Guerrera walk out of the same room Cami had just stormed out of.

"Are you okay? I mean, I know that's a stupid question, I'm sorry. I just, you're crying and I saw that bitch Francesca walk out of that room behind you. I just figured, maybe you could use a friend right now." I shrug. She gives me a grateful smile, and we share a shirt but comforting embrace.

"I have to go find something, but thank you, Skylar, for everything." She smiles at me. "Anytime." I give her a smile back, before heading over to sit with Elijah and Klaus.

I sit down, and give them both a smile. "I will warn you, Skylar, Klaus seems to be in a spectacularly foul mood today." Elijah explains.

"Sod off." Klaus mutters, averting his eyes away from me. "What's the deal with these moonlight rings? Oliver's trying to start a revolution every 5 Seconds. People are scared, angry. And frankly, I'm tired of having Hayley stalling for us." I ask.

"It's a day of peace, Skylar. Try to enjoy it." Klaus suggests. I nod and look around, seeing all of the people pouring and downing drinks like it's a party.

"In the meantime with all manner of unknown enemies conspiring against our family, you have to move back in full time." Klaus explains.

"Awesome, then we can do that thing where you lock me in the tower, then I escape and run away, then there's drama, then I explain to you both how I can very well take care of myself." I shrug.

"The rings are in progress, I will live up to my word. We will find and punish whoever launched the attack on the bayou. And you will return to the compound for your own safety. But right now, I'm gonna finish this bottle in attempts to drown the demon that has chosen to haunt me today. Cheers Mikael, to your impeccable timing." He states, taking the bottle and taking a drink out of it.

"Elaborate." Elijah demands, making me furrow my brows. What could possibly be wrong now? "Have you dreamt of our father?" Elijah asks.

"Go ahead, have a good laugh." Klaus rolls his eyes. The worry on Elijah's face is what worries me most here.

"I can assure you there isn't a piece of this that I find even remotely amusing, Klaus. Especially considering I've been dreaming of him too." Elijah tenses up in seriousness.

"What?" Klaus asks, looking very concerned. "If you are also seeing him, perhaps our elusive, unknown enemy is orchestrating a further attack." And with that they both look over to Genevieve, who's giving a slight smirk from across the room.

"Well, then what better way to punctuate a day of peace then by killing someone." Klaus smirks.

After the Mardi Gras party that was supposed to be the funeral, I decided to take a walk after dark, to try and clear my head.

Klaus and Elijah were out interrogating and killing Genevieve, so that made me a little more at ease. Also, Hayley was having a word with Francesca about the bayou incident, so that made everything a bit more relieving for me.
