"Please don't make this harder than it is," Cascade whispered. Lichen grinned at her.
"Oh, cheer up. Our dragonets will be great! Do you have names for them?" He asked, not taking his eyes off of the sparkling eggs. She sighed.
"No. They won't be living in the Seawing kingdom. It's not my decision what their names are." She curled her tail around her feet. Lichen remained staring at the eggs.
"That one will be...Jaguar." He nudged the male egg.
Cascade raised a brow. "And this one?" She nodded at the female egg. He thought for a moment.
"How about...Ivy?" He asked. She shrugged.
"Sounds good." She replied. "Anything sounds good, to be honest. I won't see them ever again." Cascade's shoulders slumped.
"Calm down, Cascade. This isn't over. This...us...I'll see you again sometime." With that, he picked up the eggs, and he flew away.
"My dragonets are going with him," She thought aloud. "Everything is going to change. Something tells me my dragonets are the story that remains untold." She stared at the wet shape that was flying away. Lichen. The one dragon that made any sense.
"Please, take their spirits somewhere they will grow up nice and strong," she prayed to any dragon willing to hear. "Take care of Jaguar. And...take care of Ivy."
