She hissed, worming her way out of his grip. He sat back, glaring at her. Slug was still staring at the mud below his claws.

She let her scales melt away, disappearing from view. She didn't want him to attack again. They seemed puzzled for a moment. At last, Slug spoke. "Maybe she went back to the rainforest." He suggested. Ooze grunted.

"It would be better if she was gone." He felt his wound gingerly. She winced. That wasn't what she wanted any dragon to think about her. She didn't want anyone to want her gone. She guessed she was pretty vicious.

"Why did you want to turn her in? Broken bones for a decoration? Queen Moorhen might not even want her. I think you should have just let her be." Slug added. Ooze glared at him angrily, and Slug flinched back.

"Well, it wasn't just for her to look pretty in front of our queen. She could have interrogated her, and then she could find out if more Rainwings are using the sink trails. She's just a dragonet. We would be able to pry a bunch of Rainwing secrets out of her." He replied dryly. Slug shrugged, not looking convinced.

"You never know. Dragons can be smarter than you think they are. She might have not been easy to crack. Maybe she could attack our queen or something like that." Slug suggested. Ooze rolled his eyes.

"Trust me, a Rainwing cannot kill our queen. She's gone now, anyway. We'll stay well clear of her tail." There was silence, and then a moment of realization.

"She was a hybrid," Slug breathed. "That would explain her short fangs. Or her bone-cracking tail."

That was enough. That was the last straw. She leaped, and landed squarely on his back. She dug her claws under his scales and clawed at his skin. He hissed in surprise. She slapped her tail into his back, and heard more cracking noises.

He rolled over on his back and dug his claws into her underbelly, even though he couldn't see them. She growled and smacked her tail as hard as she could into his exposed underbelly. He let out a piercing scream.

She then ran her claws down the wound, hearing more screams.

She felt her scales appear again, but she didn't care. There was a horrible moment of silence. She wrapped her claws around his neck, and tugged it up.
