As Ivy explained her story, she hid some parts of it, like how she had lost her father, or how her mother had rejected her. All this excited dragonet needed to know was who and what Ivy was.

"Wait, but why are you here?" Cloud asked. "Why do you want to come to Queen Ruby? You have to tell me. I'm not leading you to her if I don't know anything about you. Argh, this exciting new adventure is going downhill really fast!"

Sighing, Ivy straightened her wings. "The alliance...it'll throw the war off balance. The Rainwings will loose without an alliance of their own. The Seawings will win unfairly...unjustly. If she doesn't end this, then the Seawings will just make this war...end. Although that's what I want...the Rainwings have a point. They are fighting for something. They will never get their voice heard."

Cloud nodded slowly. "I understand you're point. What do the Rainwings want?"

Ivy thought Cloud was a smart little dragonet to want to hear every detail. "They want territory. The Rainwings don't have enough water, and they need more beach escape routes. Also, if they ever need to sort things out with the Mudwings, they'd have a beach to do that on. They think it's unfair how much territory of the beach the Seawings get."

The little red Skywing shrugged. "But the Rainwings have been fine without that territory as long as they can remember. Why launch it now? Why put a plan into effect if it might not be the best for the Rainwings?"

"Because now that Queen Glory is the Queen, we're not lumbering sloths! Every dragon thought we were lazy toucans who wanted to lie around in the sun all day! You dragons don't even know what's going on in the rainforest! Maybe they weren't fine! You just didn't notice!" She snapped, then realized how mean she sounded. "Sorry. It's just what I've held in all these years."

Cloud didn't look at all ruffled. She shrugged her shoulders, and banked her wings to fly behind the towering red palace.

Following, she hurried to keep up. Cloud was aiming for a giant balcony in the back. "Won't the queen notice us if we go there?" Ivy asked as they flew. Cloud nodded.

"That's what you want, isn't it?" She asked, confused.

"Well, I want to see the queen...but I don't really want to be captured by the guards first." Ivy pointed out.

The little dragonet shrugged. "Then we have to convince them that we want to see the Queen," She replied. "Meaning we have to be dramatic." She zoomed towards the balcony at full speed, rushing in as if hot coals were being thrown at her.

Hastily she flew after her, but Ivy just wasn't as fast as a Skywing. Cloud landed, steadying herself by holding her wings straight out. Ivy tried to do the same, but she was flying too fast, and skidded on the stone, her snout crashing into the floor and throbbing painfully as she got up.

She saw four dragons in the room. Three of which were guards. Two females and one male. The other dragon was not a guard. She wasn't very adorned - one emerald on each wing, and a gold wristband. She narrowed her eyes just the slightest bit and looked side to side quickly, as if she had no idea what to do and what was going on.

Cloud opened her jaws to say something, and was immediately attacked by a guard. Knowing what was probably going to happen to herself, she closed her wings around herself and ducked. The guard flew right over her, barely missing her horns with her front talons.

Ivy sat up as the guard tried to tie chains around her wings. Cloud dipped her head, trying to make it easier for the guard to put chains on her. Well, that's not me, Ivy thought. She grasped the guard's horns and threw her back. The chains jingled.

The guard lashed out with a claw, leaving a little scratch on Ivy's neck. She then darted away, flattened herself to the ground, and quickly slithered towards her, snapping her snout repeatedly as to bite her when she got close enough. She looked like a lizard with sand on her tongue.

Ivy leaped over her, and clawed her wings as she passed, scoring some blood. The dragon did a set of feints and jabs. She looked strange, as if reading the words of a song to put it together. She's too young to fight with instinct, Ivy realized. She doesn't have enough battle experience to rely on her fighting abilities. She's remembering battle moves.

Well, if I can't survive the Skywing palace, my destiny is set.
