"Wait!" A voice called in the distance. All the dragons turned their heads to stare at the dark shape winging towards them in the distance.

The dragon skidded to a stop, panting with the effort. "The queen would like to see him." He said, pointing to Spit.

Spit's brow furrowed. "What does she want to see me about? What did I do?" He asked, confused. The dragon shrugged.

"I'm not sure. It's for her and you to talk about, I guess. She just said she wanted to see you. That is all." He made a small bow, and then opened his wings to fly up. Toxin stopped him, however, and asked another question.

"Wait! Spit can't just leave. I need him to train me! We were going tree gliding. Queen Glory never interrupts lessons." He pointed out in his 'it's a fact' voice. The dragon heaved a sigh and gave Toxin a glazed reply.

"She'll have to today, I'm afraid. Can't you just train with him?" He added, gesturing at Lichen. Lichen didn't notice, and was too busy trying to catch a butterfly in his claws. Toxin gave him a disgusted look, but Lichen didn't notice that, either.

"Well...I guess...but he's...I mean...Ivy...he's Ivy's trainer..." He sputtered. The dragon gave a nod and took to the sky without another word. Toxin's wings drooped.

Ivy couldn't help feeling sorry for him. Training with Lichen...that would be hard enough. But knowing his best friend could put up with this every day? He couldn't even complain to anybody. She was sure when Spit came back he'd be relieved, but she also knew it would be hard not to show that. She knew she should be angry. Toxin was visibly showing he didn't want to train with her father. She just couldn't bring herself to capture that feeling.

Her scales were turning blue and green, and she changed them to deep purple to hide her emotions. She suddenly came up with an excuse. She let little white lightening bolts through her purple ruff that were visible. "I'm actually feeling a bit sick." She lied. Toxin looked torn between relief and annoyance.

Lichen looked surprised. "Okay, I'll take you to the Seawing Doctors. You have to wait here, Toxin. This could get messy." Flustered and embarrassed, she couldn't help a little orange spurt seeping through her scales. A stressed brown flickered through her ruff.

Lichen led her through the forest, and stopped her at a tree ledge. "Where are the doctors? I remember clearly they were right here." He looked about at the tall trees surrounding him. A creek ran between their claws. She sighed.

"We aren't in the Seawing Kingdom, Lichen. We're in the rainforest. The doctors are in the healer hut. This is just a creek in the middle of a bunch of trees." She dipped a claw in the cold water, and then shivered. Lichen had turned an orangish purple color. The color for confused. It took him a moment to realize what she meant. He then turned a shade of jet black.

"I'm sorry, Dad." She leaned into his wings, propping him up with her own. Sometimes, she couldn't help feeling sorry for her dad. He didn't mean to be a little weird. He just thought he was somewhere...different.

"It's fine, Ivy. It's fine." He replied, a little dazed. She could tell he was upset. Gray-blue storm clouds rolled through his scales, an upset black chasing through his snout. Ivy sighed.

"Did I ever tell you anything about how you were hatched?" He asked suddenly. Ivy sat up, surprised. Her father had never asked that question before. Was he going to tell her this time? She looked up at him.

"No. Well, sometimes when your...a little...confused, you say some things about my mother...and how you liked to go to the Sea Kingdom to talk to her sometimes...but I have never really known much about me." She replied truthfully. Lichen held her tight.

"Maybe I could tell you today."
