Chapter Fourteen
Cainy, a Doe and Reunions

Aimee settled into her new living quarters quite well.

Her room was situated upstairs in our house, just to the left of Di and Ana's room. (They wanted bunk beds.) Her reaction to the clones was priceless.

"What the?! You look like Diana! But you're ghosts! Was Diana a triplet, but now she's the only one that survived?" Aimee questioned. Her tone held so much alarm that her voice had involuntary raised three octaves.

Di rolled her eyes. "We're, like, clones. I'm Di, the far superior clone and..." She turned to Ana. The (I don't know any other terms that I could put without insulting the idiot) silly wisp clutched an egg with her right hand (where did she get an egg?), twirled a baton with her left, and balanced a peanut on her nose. Di sighed. "That's Ana."

At the sound of her own name, Ana dropped her hold on everything. The egg scrambled itself on the ground, while the baton and peanut simply made a loud thud. Ana levitated, rising about two inches above the tile to prove she could. "Hey!"

"Hi it's great to meet you two now that I know you aren't scary ghosts or anything. I'm The Sorceress Aimee. I guess that's my official title, but I've never been too keen about it, so just call me Aimee." She approached the two cautiously, as if she wanted to be completely positive that they weren't evil. "Wow. This spell keeping you clones functional is really impressive. I haven't seen anything this strong in years."

Ana blushed. "Aw, stop it."

Di had had enough. In her last exasperated act, she smacked herself in the face before she headed back to her room. Unfortunately, since she still hadn't mastered physical objects and wisp phasing, Di's hand passed into her head. She wasn't injured in the slightest, however she was definitely annoyance. She let out an angry scream and shuffled back to her living quarters.

From outside, a strange sound- a mix between a lion roar, a squeak and a whistle; the sound of chaos.

Me eyes lit up in excitement.

"Herman!"

Aimee gave me a curious look. "Who?"

I grinned. "Come on, let me show you!" With that, I grabbed her arm and pulled her outside.

The all-intimidating Scorin flapped his wings constantly to stay off the ground. His eyes were in bug-mode instead of the kitten eyes I was familiar with. His powerful tail stood on full display, swishing behind him. The purple acid dribbled onto the grass below and lost its green color. It died, but it's grass, so that's fine I think. Before Aimee could freak out, I ran up to him excitedly. His demeanor changed in an instant. His head lowered and he grinned ecstatically. In that moment, I could picture him as a small child in a candy store clearly. His eyes transformed into the kitten ones I knew with a blink, and his tail and its pearly white stinger shot into the ground to keep my best friend upright. I gave him a humongous hug.

"Buddy, I missed you so much!" I cried. In one swift moment, I kept my hold on Herman while moving towards the newest Sorceress to grace our household. "Aimee, this is Herman. He's a Scorin and a good friend of mine." I turned, finally letting go. "Herman, this is Aimee. She's a Sorceress who wants to help us."

He gave her a nod. "Great. Nice to meet you."

"He said he's happy you're here." I informed her.

Aimee gave me a quizzical glance. "You understand what he says?"

"Well... Yeah I guess. I'm sure you will be able to once you get to know him."

"Cool!" Her grin was infectious. "I'm glad to meet you too, Herman!"

Herman gave a proud huff, throwing his head back slightly. "Of course you are. Oh, Diana, I have a vacation to head on tomorrow."

I shrugged. Everyone needs a vacation at some point. I have nothing against it.

Aimee interrupted my wordless conversation with Herman. "Oh, speaking of creatures... I may or may not have a pet with me. If that's okay." When a second passed and I did not reprimand her, she touched one of the many yellow marker drawings on her dress. It rested on the sash of her dress heading around her waist. Aimee smiled as a lemon-colored light beamed from the doodle. It peeled off like a sticker and there stood her pet. "This is Cainy. She's my precious bab-"

She was interrupted when I regained myself. What stood there made me so overwhelmingly ecstatic that I let out the biggest gasp.

"You have a deer?! That's so cool! I love deer! Will she really be staying with us? Because that is fine by me."

Aimee giggled. "I'm glad you like Cainy."

"I've always loved deer," I admitted. "And who knows? Maybe she'll be a great addition to the team."

Behind my ear, a Ruby beeped.

"Speaking of which..."

Author's Note!

Huh. Wonder what is gonna happen next. Wait. I already know... But what do YOU think? Also, you think Diana is a little obsessed with deer? If she lived in our world, I'm sure Bambi would have made her cry. XD Don't forget to vote!
