The Abused Mate

Chapter 15

Jasper's Pov

Claire turned to look at me and I saw a knife sticking out of her left shoulder, blood instantly soaking into whatever was left of her shirt.

"Jasp...er", she said my name and I was instantly moving towards her.

I dropped down beside her and tears were threatening to fall down my cheeks but I didn't let them. She pushed her body up enough and pressed her lips to mine. It was a sweet, gentle, and slow kiss. I responded but there was something different about this kiss, she was slowly pulling away from me for some reason.

When we pulled away she looked into my eyes for a second before she spoke.

"I...love...yo...", she didn't even finish what she was saying when she fell down to the ground beside me, her eyes were closed and her breathing was slowing down. I started to really freak out!

I picked her up and ran as fast as I could with her in my arms, all the pack members that were with me followed behind and beside. Leo and Logan were on either side of me keeping an eye out around us and on me to make sure I didn't explode any emotion out just yet.

We got back to the pack house and I instantly ran through the house to the doctor's room bursting through the door and scaring the hell out of Nathan and the patient he was talking to, I felt bad for interrupting.

"Please... Please help her", I was breathing heavily trying to get as much oxygen into my lungs as I could. Nathan looked between me and Claire for a second before turning to his patient.

"I'll be back as soon as I've finished with this if you don't mind?", I was on edge with all this waiting but I had to keep in mind that he was with them first. They nodded to me and to Nathan.

"Help the Luna, she looks like she's in a critical state if you don't do anything fast", I nodded my appreciation to them and left the room with Nathan when he left too.

We walked into an empty room and I placed her on the bed while he was putting some gloves on his hands.

"If you don't mind me saying this, but would you step out while I operate on your mate? I know you won't like that, but I'll do a better job if you're waiting outside while me and my doctors get the work done that we need to do", his words flared anger inside me but I could understand where he was coming from.

I clenched my jaw and nodded.

"Thank you Alpha, I promise you'll be let in as soon as we're all done", as I nodded again more doctors walked into the room as I walked out of the room and sat down, closing the door behind me. I was still covered in Claire's blood and it scared me to see that much of her blood on me.

I was still waiting about an hour and a half later when Leo and Logan appeared walking down the hallway. When they stopped my sister popped out from behind Leo and Logan's mate had come too, but I didn't care right now.

I know that sounds horrible but the only thing I care about right now is waiting for Nathan to be finished saving my mate.

I could vaguely hear them talking but I didn't pay attention and they didn't mind, I guess they were talking to each other, not me.

Time past by very quickly and before I knew it I was asleep. I bolted up right, eyes wide looking around where I was sleeping.

"Hey it's alright man, no need to freak out. You're sitting outside Claire's hospital room", Leo's voice rung in my ears. That's right, I'm waiting for the doctor to come back out.

"How long was I out for?", Leo relaxed back in his chair that was to my left.

"Maybe about 30 minutes", wow that's longer than I thought I was out.

"Has Nathan come back out yet?", I looked over to Leo and his face said it all. No Nathan hasn't come back out yet...

We sat there for another 20 minutes when Nathan finally stepped out of the room, door closing behind him. He was pulling off his gloves that had blood all over them.

I stood up immediately with a worried expression on my face.

"Is she...?", his eyes meet mine and showed me no indication on Claire's condition.

"She is going to be fine, she's lost a lot of blood and is very weak. But she's all good, I got rid of any wolfs bane that was left in her system. You can go in and see her Alpha", I hesitated for a moment, but then ran past Nathan and in through the door behind him.

When I got in there I saw she was hooked up to multiple different machines. Nathan came in after me and had his hand on my shoulder.

"It looks worse than it is, she's just sleeping. But I don't know when she'll wake up, so just sit tight and wait for her", I nodded my head and then he was gone again.

I slowly moved over to the seat that was beside her and sat down. I grabbed her hand nicely, not trying to disturb the placement of her arm too much. I looked up to her emotionless face.

"I'm sorry I didn't find you sooner... I should of...", I tried to talk but I got cut off as I choked on a sob and tears slide down my cheeks.

Someone walked in and I didn't care, I was allowed a moment like this. I had to go through a week of hell without my mate beside me, and then when I did find her and see her, she was covered head to toe in her own blood from whatever torture they put her through the whole time she was in their care.

Whoever walked in came around in front of me and pulled me to them.

"It's ok big brother. You've found her and brought her home now. Don't beat yourself up about how long it took you, or how much effort you put in to finding her. I'm sure when she wakes she'll be overjoyed to be home by your side again. Just wait and see Jasper", my sister's words bounced around inside my head and I sobbed hard as she hugged me tighter.

Not long after that Leo and Logan joined us inside the room where Claire lay.

3 days later

Claire was still sleeping in the hospital room and I was starting to get really worried, and my would was restless. I've barely slept at all while she's been in here. Before when she was still kidnapped somehow I got at least an hours sleep, I guess I was really tired,before I bolted out of bed and couldn't get back to sleep so I would work toward finding Claire some more.

But now that she was asleep in this hospital room I would only be asleep for like half an hour before I was wake up and then I wouldn't be able to fall asleep again. I had big bags under my eyes and they were only getting worse with Claire being in here not waking up.

Everyone tried to get me out of here to get some fresh air, or to get something to eat and drink, or to just move in general, but I refused all of their offers not wanting to leave Claire alone.

The only time I left was if nature called, and even then I made sure someone was there with her like Leo, or even just a nurse while I went to the bathroom.

I have barely eaten, the only thing I have really consumed in the last 3 days is water and maybe the odd bit of food. People were getting worried but I said I would eat when Claire was awake and eating something too. They just sighed and knew they weren't going to win in a fight against me so they didn't start one.

Currently I was sitting on the chair next to Claire and lying my head on the bed while holding her hand. My eyes were about to close for my little power nap when I felt something move inside my hand.

I bolted out of the seat which went skidding backwards and looked down at my hand with wide eyes. Then something moved again, I looked between my hand and Claire's face.

Was that her hand moving?!

"Claire...?!"
