Mikes pov
"Michael Wheeler!" my mom called from up the steps, "They are all gonna be here in a few minutes!"
Tonight my mom was hosting the party and their families over tonight, well everyone except Lucas because he went to visit family.
"Ok! On my way mom!" I called down the steps I carefully examined all of my shirt options. Joyce and Hopper had gotten married in April and the Hoppers/Byers were coming together for the first time as a family. This meant EL was coming and I real-
"Mike! You've been looking at those shirts for 30 minutes! El is going to love you no matter what you're wearing!" Nancy said laughing leaning on my doorframe.
"Shut up Nancy, she doesn't love me!" I said and threw one of the rejected shirts at her. I turned around and smiled.
She totally loves me
I picked out a navy blue gingham button-down shirt and paired it with a pair of black pants. A little preppy for me... but I knew El would like it.
I walked downstairs and helped my mom move the final preparations over to the table.
"You look nice tonight Mike?" my mom said as she examined my outfit, "Anyone you're trying... to impress?" she smiled and set down the final plate.
"What? Mom? heh, no." I laughed and tried to leave the room, "El and I are just friends," I said laughing and went into the living room.
"Yeah... you and El are friends... FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS!" Nancy said as Hopper and Joyce w*lked into the room.
"OH! Uh, hey there Joyce, uh Hopper, so nice to see you..." she said before rushing out of the room, "Good luck Mike..." she whispered and patted me on the back.
"Um, hello Hoppers... how are yo-" I started nervously while Hopper gave me the death stare.
"El went up to Nancy's room sweetie," Joyce said as she pulled me into a hug.
"Thank you so much," I whispered to Joyce and ran off before Hopper could approach me.
Els pov
I sat down with Nancy and she talked to me about Mike. I was just about to ask what happened with Mike and his... sensitive area... as he put it the other day before Mike and Jonathan burst into the room.
"El!" Mike shouted. He ran over to me into a hug and knocked me onto Nancy's bed, "hey," he said and blushed. He brushed the curls out of my eyes and I lifted my head to kiss him.
"Ah kids, we're still here..." Jonathan said and covered his and Nancy's eyes.
"Oh, right sorry," I said as I stood up as my cheeks blushed and matched the color of Mikes.
"Kids! Dustin is here!" Ted yelled from downstairs.
"We're on the way!" Mike yelled.
Ten Minutes later (time skip bc i cant write ha)
Mikes pov
"Dinners ready kids!" mom yelled from the dinner table.
"I call sitting next to Steve!" Dustin cried rushing to sit by Steve.
"Here you go El," I said blushing and pulled out her chair.
"Thanks, Mike," she said and kissed my cheek.
Hopper coughed loudly and glared at me.
"Uh, yeah, uh so here's your chair El..." I said and pushed hers in. I pulled out the seat next to her and sat down.
As dinner began Mrs. Henderson and my mom began talking about recent gossip while Nancy Steve and Jonathan started talking about drama at school. Dustin and Will started arguing about our recent D&D campaign. That left El and me to start talking.
"So El, hows chemistry going?" I asked while taking a bite of the chicken that my mom had prepared.
"Oh, it's kinda fun!" she said smiling, "I love learning about the chemical compounds and the Lewis dot diagrams."
Holy crap. How a girl who loves science be so... breathtakingly gorgeous.
"Oh yeah! I remember that from last semester!" I said and took a sip of some water, "Its pretty cool!"
She grabbed my hand under the table and started to trace the lines on my palm with her fingers. I took my hand and set it on her knee. I started to draw circles on her knee and slowly let my pinky graze her inner thigh.
"So Mike how are you liking sophomore year?" Joyce asked me and I pulled my hand up from under the table and grabbed my fork again.
"Oh uh... umm its..." I tried to push out words but had lowered her hand and was slowly inching her way up my leg, "Its going great," I started before choking on my water. I don't think El had grasped the idea of privacy and uh, went a little too high up on my leg.
"Mike, are you ok?" Nancy turned to me and pretended to act concerned.
"Oh, uh yeah I just kinda choked on my water." I stammered
"Oh, it just seemed like you choked on something... hard," she said smiling and moved her eyes and hinted to under the table.
I knew she didn't really "drop her fork" under the table and spent an unusually long time looking for it.
"Uh, nope Nance, just the water," I said making wide eyes and kicking her foot from across the table.
Time skipppppp
After dinner, the rest of the party and I headed down to my basement.
"So what do you guy want to watch tonight?" I asked
"Anything is ok with me," Will replied, "but I don't think I'm gonna be up much longer... Nancy kinda slept over last night. Plus Jonathan's room is next to mine and... the walls are really really thin..." he said cringing.
"AH NO STOP!" I shouted threw a pillow at Will.
We decided on E.T. After about 45 minutes everyone was asleep except me. I grabbed a blanket and snuggled next to El I pulled the blanket over us and kissed her neck.
"Mike?" El asked groggily and turned to face me.
"Oh, sorry love, go back to bed," I whispered running my fingers down her side.
"I love you Mike,"
"I love you too El,"
"I had fun at dinner," she whispered bit her lip and looked up at me.
I combed my fingers through my hair and leaned in, right as I was about to reach her lips I whisperd, "I did too,"
