Eleven

I rolled over to face my beautiful husband still asleep in bed. I picked up my phone and checked the calendar, November 6th, 2018. I took a sharp inhale in, which awoke Mike, holy shit, its been 35 years already.

"EL!" he exclaimed, "what's wrong did something happen are yo-" I quickly sealed his mouth by leaning over him and planting a tender kiss on his lips, even after 35 years, he's still my overprotective Mike.

"Nothing, nothing's wrong honey," I said, pulling away from him, "I just realized, it's been 35 years," I smiled and grabbed his hand.

"What? 35 years since-" he began as he picked up his iPhone X which every member of the family got after Ava went on and on about how cool they were, but Mike is still convinced the whole face unlocking is part of some government conspiracy, but who can blame him. "Oh," he stopped and looked at me, "oh my god we're getting so old," he ran his hand through his dark curls, which had a few grey roots beginning to pop up but don't tell him I mentioned that.

"Well, happy almost anniversary of when we first met, I can't believe tomorrow will be 35 years," I said and began to lean in before we heard loud footsteps quickly running towards our room. Then a loud thud, and then a few shouts.

"Are you ready?" I pulled away from Mike.

"I don't think I can do this," he sighed.

"Come on Mike, we had an equal part in creating them, I think we can handle whatever they throw at us," I sighed then braced for impact.

"MOM JACK ASKED OUT KATIE! TELL HIM HE CAN'T DO THAT SHE'S MY FRIEND AND ITS GROSS!" Elizabeth burst through the door while Jack came in running behind her.

"ELIZABETH! SHUT UP! SHE'S A GIRL I CALL DIBS!" Jack shouted back at her and picked up a pillow off of a chair and threw it at her.

"DAD! TELL HIM!" she whined and hit him back with another pillow.

Mike

"DAD! TELL HIM!" Elizabeth said and flashed her big brown eyes. Shes has been using those same eyes, ever since she was a little girl, and damn it I can never say no. Elizabeth has those same eyes that I first met back in 1983 on that rainy night. Eleven and I decided to tell our kids about our past when or if they ever discovered powers, and then again when they turned thirteen, the rest of the party decided thirteen was the right age to tell their kids too even though their kids most likely didn't ha e powers. Ava's was telekinesis, Elizabeth's was these visions, little glimpses of people's memories, or events that had happened in certain places, that she got when she touched something. (Like Theo's powers in The Haunting of Hill House if you've seen it) And Jack could make you see things that weren't there, like Kali.

Come on Mike, don't fall for those eyes, you fall for it all the time, don't be weak, just say it's fine.

"Jack, you need to talk to your sister before you ask out her friends, you cannot call dibs on a girl," damn it

"But dad!" he exclaimed and pouted out his bottom lip.

"Jack, you cannot call dib's on a girl, she's not an object, have we really not taught you how to treat girls! It's 2018! Equality!" I said before pointing them out of our room.
