Chapter Fifteen: The family

Raven's Point Of View

"So how was your day you two?" My dad asked us at dinner.

"It was great. Me and Raven got to go diving today. Nathen took us. It was really awesome. There was all kinds of fish and everything. And I think theres something going on with the two love birds." Nerd boy said smirking.

"What love birds?" Asked mom confused.

"Nathen and Raven. Those love birds. What other love birds would I be talking about?" He said.

They both looked at me, and I cut up my stake.

"Can you pass the ketchup?" I asked.

"Nathen?" Asked my dad, "Who's that?"

"He's just one of my friends dad." I said grabbing the ketchup myself, and put some on my plate before taking a bite.

"Yeah right. I see the way you two look at each other. Its like all you two want to do is be with each other. And its not that hard to see that you are head over heels in love with him, and that he would do anything that you would want. I mean, If you asked him to jump off a cliff he would probably do it for you. Or if you ask him to hurt himself he would probably do that too. Thats only because if you love someone like that you would do anything the other person wants. I bet that you can't stop-"

The doorbell rang just then.

"I'll get it," Said Nerd boy. He jumped up and ran to the door.

"So Raven, this boy what all do you know about him?" My mom asked.

I opened my mouth to answer, but just then nerd boy came back.

"Who was at the door Max?" My dad asked.

He looked behind him at the person.

"Nathen," I said under my breath.

My dad looked at me and I turned back to my plate and took a drink of my milk.

"Nathen! Its nice to finally meet you," My dad said, "Please join us for dinner."

I almost spit out my milk. This is not what I meant when I wanted to see Nathen again.

"I.. Uh.. Don't want to intrude or anything.." Nathen said, "I just was wondering if I could talk to Raven. I'll just come back tomorrow."

"No, No, we will be glad if you joined us for dinner," My mother said, "We have heard alot about you."

"Is that so?" He asked. I could tell that he was surprised.

"Yeah." Said nerd boy sitting back down,"I was just telling them how you and Raven are love birds."

He looked confused.

"How are we love birds?" He asked.

"Well the way you two look at each other. It's not that hard to tell." Answered nerd boy.

Me and Nathen looked at each other then. His soft chocolate brown eyes gazing into my own. I had to pull my eyes away from him before I ended up staring.

"See there you two go again." Nerd boy said.

I sighed.

"I wish I could stay, but I probably should get going though. I'm very sorry for interrupting your guys dinner." Nathen said.

"It's alright." My mom told him, "Oh, and Raven will walk you to the door.

I look over at her and saw her giving me a "do it" look.

I swallowed my food, and took another drink before I got up, and took Nathens hand. I pulled him to the front door before letting his hand go. I opened the door for him, but he just leaned against the doorway not walking out.

I sighed.

"Your going to let mosquito's in." I told him.

"Then step out side for a second." He says.

I looked behind me, and closed the door stepping outside.

"Why did you come here Nathen?" I asked him.

He wrapped his arms around me. I asked him why he did this last time, but he just told me that he doesn't know why he does it. That he thinks it's because he likes to know that I'm here.

"My dad wants you, and your brother to come over tomorrow night. He told me to bring you over, but the reason why I decided to actually come is that I wanted you to go for a walk with me tomorrow." He answered.

"Oh really?" I asked.

He nodded.

"As friends?" I asked.

"If you want." He answered.

"Nathen what did Micky do?" I asked. I know that I had asked him earlier, but I would hope that he found out. Well I don't know. I wish he did.

He shakes his head.

"I still don't know yet. Your brother seems like he is fine though." He answered.

"Yeah but.. He was bleeding before. He said that Micky did it and it was a accident, but he didn't know what he did." I told him.

"Raven. I'll find out later tonight for you okay? I promise I will. But for now go finish your dinner. Then go to bed. You need to go to sleep." He says to me.

"Fine." I tell him.

A couple minutes past then.

"Uh, Nathen?" I said softly to him.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Not that I don't like you holding me like this and all, but in order for me to eat and then go to sleep I need to be let go." I tell him

"Right.. I wish that I didn't have to though." He told me letting me go, "Will you please come tomorrow?"

"Yes. I will go for a walk with you tomorrow and I will go to your house." I tell him smiling.

"Okay good. We will eat dinner first, but we eat late on Sundays. So I'll probably come to pick you and your brother up around eight thirty or nine." He told me.

"Okay." I tell him.

"Good. Bye Raven." He tells me.

"Goodnight Nathen." I say turning around and going inside.
