"Come on, you're going to be late for your first day of school," My brother tells me from behind the door to my room.

"I'm coming, I'm coming," I groan at him as I start rolling out of bed.

I landed hard on the floor, but I didn't get up until I heard his foot steps leave. When I make sure that he went down stairs I get up and begin to walk over to my closet very sleepily. I pulled out my favorite silky black dress, and changed into it.

"COME ON!" Yelled my mom from downstairs.

"I'M COMING!" I yelled back at them. God. I just woke up. Cut me some slack.

I went over to my dresser, and quickly did my makeup before pulling away. I made sure to check over myself and make sure I wasn't forgetting anything.

Lets see... I look over myself before deciding that I had everything. I guess that is all.

"Mom said that if you aren't down there in two minutes, she's going to drive me to school without you," My brother said on the other side of the door.

Oh my god! That's right, I almost forgot my purse.

I grabbed my purse, and opened my door only to reveal my little brother standing there.

"Come on, weirdo," I said running down the stairs, he followed me down and into the kitchen.

"Hello," Said my dad at the table.
He was reading his newspaper as I entered.

"Morning honey," My mom said then sighed as she saw me.

Oh no! Here it comes, the "I hate it when you look like that. Can't you be normal just this once?" look. She gets on my nerves, at least I am still allowed to go out like this though.

"Raven, now why are you wearing these kind of clothes again? It's your first day of school. Don't you want to make a good impression?" My mom questioned me as she looked me over.

"Mom, I'm being me, besides this shouldn't surprise you any more," I told her grabbing my backpack.

"But your all black," She whined.

I pull on my shoes when my brother jumps to my defense.

"Mom, that makes her happy, she looks just like a amazing vampire princess," Said the little weirdo.

"I thought that I was going to be late for my first day of school?" I say trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, you're probably going to be late, so come on," She said taking me and my brother to the car.

We got in. The car was of course white. I don't really understand why my mom hates the color black; there's nothing wrong about it.

It seemed like forever but it was probably just five minutes when we pulled up to the school. I looked at all the kids. They all seemed like my brother over here, not like me. This didn't surprise me. A lot of schools don't have people like me.

"See every one else isn't wearing black," My mom had stated matter fo factly.

I rolled my eyes at this.

"That's because none of them are different like me," I told her simply as I open the car door.

"Your not different," She tells me with a soft sigh.

I know she thinks that I'm different to, but I like being different. Being like everyone else is just so boring I feel like I'm going to puke when I think of me wearing the clothes that are "in".

"Thanks mom," I say softly.

Me and my brother got out of the car then. I can see him look up at the school.
