Warrior cats New Dawn *book 1*

Chapter 2

Flamepaw ran through the rocky fields preparing to hunt for as much prey as she could.As she walked through the rocks she soon caught scent of a vole scampering around looking for any bit of food.Flamepaw instinctually crouched down keeping down wind like her mentor taught her a moon ago.She slowly moved forward until she was barely 5 pawsteps away from it, before finally pouncing on it and swiftly killing it with a deadly bite to its throat.

Flamepaw proudly picked up the vole Finding a patch of dirt to bury the vole for later.She could only think of making her mentor proud, Lavenderfall was a little self centered and was hard to impress and it always seemed like she does something wrong when she trains with her.No dont think like that Flamepaw you will make her proud of you, you just need a way to prove yourself.

Flamepaw continued to hunt still stuck in thought as she caught a mice and voles.she soon grew tired of hunting and started to rest a little as she thought about the 3 pieces of prey she caught. I need to continue hunting if I go back to meet her now she will be growling at me until sunset about these little bits of prey.And with that she continued hunting until dawns rays lit the sky.
"You were supposed to meet me at sunning cliffs earlier Flamepaw" lowly said a white she-cat appearing through a Bush in front of Flamepaw. "I-I know Lavenderfall I just got-," was all Flamepaw could say before being interrupted by the aggravated she-cat. "I dont want your excuses I said a little past sunhigh not until dawn," hissed Lavenderfall. Flamepaw felt herself shrink back at her mentors harsh scolding.

Lavenderfall flicked her tail and then turned back and walked away as Flamepaw lagged behind her as they made their way back to camp.
"Ah you two are back," said a grey tabby. " hello Rowanleaf do you happen to know where fernpaw is I have some stuff to ask her," questioned Lavenderfall."she is out getting herbs with Heatherleaf" he replied. She lightly growled which unnerved both Flamepaw and Rowanleaf." I think you should get some rest, both of you have been out since Sunhigh which is a long enough time to hunt," suggested Rowanleaf. " No I have no need to rest I will just find Fernpaw myself and Flamepaw completely forgot her prey so she has to go retrieve it before resting right?" Suggested Lavenderfall. Flamepaw just nodded not wanting to have the argument where she was suppose to follow her instead of retrieving the prey. "Good," she said coldly and they walked out of camp going separate ways to do what they needed to do.

Flamepaw was again lost in thought as she made her way to the only forest area of their territory.she continued to make her way to her prey as she caught scent of a cat, a Grass clan cat. She slowly moved through the bushes trying to not make a single sound, she had to chase out this intruder to make Lavenderfall proud of her.

She soon caught sight of the grey cat hunting on her territory and immediately flexed her claws staying downwind to make sure the grey cat couldn't scent her. The cat had sleek fur with amber eyes and she was hunting a rabbit on their territory which made Flamepaws blood boil. She needed to quickly make a move before they got away so before the cat could move she made her move and pounded on them claws unseathead.

The cat yelped in surprise as her claws dug into the grey fur. She kept digging her claws deeper only thinking of making her mentor proud, which distracted her when the cat kicked her back with her hind legs then quickly lunging at her neck biting down. Flamepaw hissed as she clawed at the cats fur trying desperately to get them off her.
She shot back hissing and growling at the grey furred cat.

"What are you doing hunting on Sun clan territory Grass clan intruder!" spat Flamepaw. " I didnt mean to trespass, and what are you doing attack cats out of nowhere what if I was a medicine cat!" Retorted the cat that Flamepaw assumed was a she-cat. "Well you were on our territory hunting that is agiansent the warrior code you mouse-brain!" she hissed back. The she-cat growled and lunged at Flamepaws legs. Flamepaws fur and tail bristled not expecting the sudden lung to her legs, so she bit the she-cats neck in defense.

Fur and blood flew everywhere from the apprentices fight and Flamepaws determination to keep going and chase her away wouldn't stop her from fighting even if she was being gravely injured and limping. The two only stopped fighting when Flamepaw fell on the ground fatigued from the constant fighting. "I admit you defeated me ,so kill me," said Flamepaw deafeated. The she-cat snorted " kill you, what a mouse brained thing to say why would I kill you just because I deafeated you now that would be dishonorable," she laughed. Flamepaw gave a confused stare as she saw the grey she-cat study her gaze before giving a mrrow of laughter. "So you thought because you started the fight that if you didnt chase me of you would be killed, no that isnt something cats should do unless it's a necessary but your just a simple apprentice like me," she lectured." What are you my mentor now scolding me for making a mistake," teased Flamepaw. "Well anyway you look like you will need help going back to your clan with those injuries I gave you so I guess it's my duty to help you," she sighed. Flamepaws eyes widen knowing what would happen if a Grass clan cat was lead into the heart of Sun clan because of her mistake.

" No no I can make it on my on please head back to your clan," slightly begged Flamepaw.

The she-cat gave a confused stare but came up to me and helped me up by letting me lean on her. " then let me help you half way there because I won't let you fall halfway and become crow food," she suggested. Flamepaw sighed before moving away from her barely keeping balance. "No go back to your territory before my clanmates spor you," she spat. The she-cat looked hurt but her gaze soon harshend and Flamepaw felt her anger graze her pelt like the she-cats claws. "Fine for back to your clan but if you die because of your injuries then dont expect me to feel bad for your death," she hissed coldly before turning away and padding away. Flamepaw felt bad it wasn't usually her to snap at cats who helped her she was usually quite joyful. As soon as she started walking away she felt quite dizzy and passes out on spot.

"Flamepaw, get up come on you can do it," gently asked a tom. Flamepaw slowly opened her eyes as she looked around to find herself in a starry clearing and looked up to see a spotted brown tom looking down at her.She reconized this tom quickly he was Spottedstar a short lived leader that she meet as a kit the leader with no lives they called him .She slowly got up trying to be careful of her injuries but to her shock they weren't there. Am I dead did she really kill me when I passed out did what she say actually a lie?."I am glad your up I have something very important to tell you do you must keep these words to heart," Flamepaw nodded listening carefully like her mentor lectured her  about so often. "When grey Mists meet a sparking flame and new dawn will rise," Flamepaws eyes widened at her words a prophecy to her why not Tigerstar or their medicine cats what made her so special." Wait spottedstar why me, what makes me special I am incapable of knowing a prophecy I am an apprentice not a leader nor a medicine cat," desperately questioned Flamepaw. The young tom giggled at her question. "Oh Flamepaw you will learn soon enough that you are stronger then you assume," he finished off before disappearing into nothing. And all his answers left her still burning in questions with no answer to her and soon everything went black before she could yowl for answers.

Hey I rewritten this one so ya sorry about taking chapter 1 and 2 down for so long just to rewrite them but I hope that the wait for them was worth it! And I will do sonething new si that you can still read the old parts while I work on rewriting.
