WITH BOTH KNEES bunched up and back against the headboard, Indira held her computer on her lap. Aimlessly she sat, scrolling through her music playlist to look for something interesting to have as background noise. In her other hand, she held her phone to check her usual socials.

It was already half past four, meaning that she had just arrived from work and was taking some time to herself to relax. Any other Saturday, she would be hanging out with her roommate, whether that meant watching TV or catching up on the latest gossip, however her roommate was still at work. She liked to think that her and Natasha were best friends because all they ever did was hang out with each other.

After high school, Indira was left without a best friend. Betrayal was the main cause, and the effect left her feeling like she had been run over by a truck. She didn't have many close friends in high school so when she left for college, all she had was herself and her mother, and of course her half sister, Lucinda, who was only six years younger. So when she entered the half empty apartment that was inhabited by a tall girl with all black everything and an eyebrow ring, she was intimidated to say the least. But under all that witty and goth façade, Natasha was genuine with kindness. Surprisingly, they shared one thing in common and that was their love for loud and ear-piercing music. That, along with many other things, allowed their relationship to flourish like meadow of wild flowers.

Interrupting her endless skipping through old friends' snapchat stories, a ringtone of her favorite song plays loudly as it vibrates in her palm. It was Luca who was calling her. Last she recalled, he was still at work, so she thought it strange that he was calling.

"Hello," she replied.

"Hey," Luca answered.

"I thought you were at work?"

"Oh I still am," he laughed lightly. She could already see the smile on his face, which made her smile instantly. "I just went outside. It's slow anyway... Listen, I started thinking about some places we can go to, but I wanted to see what you had in mind first." He said.

"I wasn't thinking anything fancy, if that's what you're worried about," she laughed as she crossed her knees in the air.

He laughed along with her then said, "Anywhere you want to go, I'll take you," he offered very kindly.

A pink blush arose on the apples of her caramel cheeks. She placed the computer to the side gently, then completely laid on her back to look up at the ceiling. She bit the inside of her lip, "Um..." she contemplated, "Oh! What about the movies in Downtown? We can go tonight and watch something?"

"Ooh that does sound like fun," he agreed as he ooh'd. "And maybe I can take you to Dick's Last Resort for a late dinner?" He offered, a little hesitant that she would argue that it would be too late.

On the contrary. "Sounds like a plan," she cheered.

"Cool. I'll see you tonight then?"

"Yeah," she smiled as if he could see her.

After they both hung up, Indira closed her eyes and smiled wide, all while hugging a pillow to her face.

Excitement was an understatement, considering this has been something she's been wanting for a couple months now. This was also strange for her as well. Sure, she had a few good relationships with her coworkers, but never once did she ever have an outside relationship with them. The most she's ever had was when Juniper was bored and sent her random texts.

Nevertheless, this would be Indira's first date since high school, which to her, felt like an eternity.
