P I P E R
Inspired by a tumblr post. Short but was written on an iPad again. So yeah.
I felt myself grin and I laughed.
Why?
Drew had fallen into a large pile of mud and was dripping wet. It took all of my willpower to not laugh in front of her face.
But I failed. Yippee.
People were surrounding her now, and laughing so hard they were clenching their sides. But Drew didn't make it a point to get up anytime soon. "I'm just gonna stay here." she mumbled. In a way, I was beginning to feel pretty bad for her. When someone else decided to laugh as well, I decided to put a stop to it. "Alright you guys, that's enough. Now scram before I tell you to jump in as well." I ordered. People fell silent and I heard someone clear their throat.
"But why?" someone asked.
"Because. Just because." I answered unsurely. Even I wasn't sure why I was like this now. But oh well.
Drew got up and coughed. "Ew, this gross stuff is so sticky and gross and.... ugh!" She complained. I winced. Yeah. There it is. "You know, I could've charmspoken them away myself, you know. You didn't have to do that." Drew muttered as she went away.
But as she stomped back to her cabin, she turned and gave me a little smile. A true, genuine one. It may have been a very, very, very small one, but it was there.
I was pretty surprised.
But I smiled back.
-ready for some Pipabeth-
Annabeth shoved a pillow in my face and I yelped in protest. "Unless you want a nerf gun war, I say quit it!" I yelled. "And where are you going to get nerf guns?" She asked. "Somewhere! From Leo or something!" I said with a grunt. She sighed and then, all of a sudden, dove on top of me and pinned me down in the couch we were on. "Annabeth, what the actual Hades?"
Just then we heard the door of the Athena cabin open. Percy walked in. "Annabeth, where are you-?"
I had an idea. Quick as Arion, I slung my leg around her waist and my arms around her neck. I cleared my throat, "Do you mind, Jackson?" I asked. He widened his eyes, stuttering. "I-uh, huh-well- where's Jason-?!"
He ran outside, calling for Jason frantically, while Annabeth stared at me, mouth wide open and eyes wide in shock. "Did you just-?!" She asked. I nodded triumphantly and gave her a quick peck on the lips. "Oh, yes I did."
She burst out laughing and I rolled out of her grasp and fell onto the floor. "Ouch." I said, rubbing my arm. She laughed harder, grasping her sides. "Oh my gods! Did you see his face?! He was all- red and flustered and everything!" she wheezed. I snickered. "You sound like a tea kettle." I teased. She turned red, but whacked my shoulder. "Shut up."
"You look cute when you laugh." I said. She wiped the corner of her eyes, which had tears from laughing so hard. "And you- well, who in Tartarus am I kidding? You look hot everyday." Annabeth shot back. I felt myself blush. "Jason! Jason, look, they were-!" Percy had arrived with Jason, who was breathing heavily from running. "What? They were what?" He asked.
"Piper was-! And on top of Annabeth!!" He wheezed. "Wha??" Jason asked. I snorted and Annabeth coughed awkwardly as Percy explained everything. Jason's eyes widened and he obviously tried to hide a squeal. He cleared his throat. "Oh my Juno-Hera. Did that really happen?" He asked. Percy nodded and screeched out a, "MY OTPPPPPPPP!!!"
I cringed and covered my ears. "Alright, Perce, as, uh, cute as that little screech was, we don't need to lose our hearing just yet." Annabeth said with a wince. "Oh. Sorry, you two are just-!" He said, his eyes rolling up and his arms held to his chest. "Perfection." Jason finished. Percy nodded. "Yes."
I rolled my eyes and Annabeth sighed, but a smile was visible in her face. "It's true, though, isn't it?" She asked, pulling back onto the couch. I grinned. "Yeah. Heck yeah it is!" I whooped. She kissed my forehead. "Cool. Just making sure." She mumbled.
Percy sighed loudly. "What about us?" He asked. "Ehhh.... you two are okay." Annabeth joked. Jason gasped loudly. "But why?" He asked dramatically. Percy pulled him closer. "They're wrong about us, Jason! They're the clowns in their relationship!" He said. "Hey!!" I protested. Annabeth gasped.
"Alright, Romeo, Juliet," Annabeth said, gesturing to Jason and Romeo and Percy as Juliet. "At least we aren't as dramatic as you two." She said. "Yeah, right. The gods quiver before us!" they announced in unison. "Wow. Was that practiced in theater or what?" I asked. "No." They answered at the same time.
"Right. We're totally wrong." I said, holding my hands up in surrender. Annabeth put my hands down. "No, Pipes, we can't surrender!" she protested. I rolled my eyes. "You Athena kids."
Annabeth sighed. "You Aphrodite kids."
We shared a look that read, wanna chase them?
We both nodded. "I'll do Perce. You do Jace." she said. We both nodded in unison and whirled around to face them. "Uh, Jason, why do they look so vicious?" asked Percy. "Run, run." Jason said, pushing him outside.
The rest of the day was pretty tiring.
