Dramas and Boys

"So you, Iniovosa, is telling me you like that Andrew Boy?" Ese asked "I don't really know. I am so confused about what I am feeling but I am sure I have a crush on him" I sighed as I relaxed on my bed "Okay, so what are you going to do?" She asked and I heard a distant male voice "Where are you Ese?" "I am in Lagos. I went there with Oke" "Oke?" She chukled "Yeah, Oke. The one you liked. Should I give him the phone?" Did I want to talk to him? "No. I mean, later. I need to go" "Okay" and I hung up.

Today was saturday, so I had time to relax and enjoy myself. I decided to have my bathe, and wore a grey shirty gown. "Aunty, I am stepping out for a bit" "Its good you're making friends dear" she always said and let me go. I decided to go get some coffee from the nearest coffee shop.

Picking my purse, I leave the house. Reaching the coffee shop, I walk up to the lady "Hello, can I get a coffee? An espresso will do" she nods and asks me to take a sit. Once I get my coffee, I get up to leave when I bump into someone who screeches "I am so sorry!" I yelled frantically and freeze when I look up to find Iss glaring at me. Her eyes grew two shades darker once she realized it was me

"Isa... I am so sorry" "Sorry?! This is how sorry you should be!" She yelled and walked up to the counter, ordering a coffee. Walking up to me, she smiled and poured the hot coffee on me. My body burnt, I was so suprisef and shocked.

Pulling my dress away from my skin, I let out a sob as she walked away angrily. Tears fell down my eyes and I stared at the people looking at me, before running out of the shop. Shame flodded my body... It made me feel weak and so out of place.

I didn't belong... No one cares about me right? Walking into a bar, I sit down and face the bartender "Some bottles of your strongest drink please" the bartender nods "Would you by any chance have a specialty for tonight?" He smiled " I could mix up something nice for you" he passed me a drink and I chugged it down.

"Got any drugs?" He raised a brow "I never gave you this" he said and handed me some powdery stuff to inhale and I began to wheeze "Ain't for you. Stick to alcohol and smoking" and then he offered me a cigar

I drank till I was drunk, smoking till I was high and soon, pouring out my heart to the bartender. He looked around and said "A girl like you shouldn't be here when this club gets intense... You need to leave"

I didn't argue with Mark the bartender as he boarded a taxi for me and off we went. I thanked the driver and threw the money at him before staggering to the door, ringing the bell continually

"Ini-" I shoved Darcey aside as I staggered inside "Iniovosa, what happened to you? Where were you?" Aunty Jennifer asked impatiently, glaring at me " Oh look, another interrogation"

Darcey stiffled a laugh " What did yiu say?Iniovosa, I am talking to you!" She yelled, hands hitting the vase as she got up which made me flinch "Are you drunk?" "Isn't it obvious? Look, I need rest" and then she slapped me across the cheek

Tears filled my eyes and soon they were falling "Why?" She asked and I just looked down "I asked why!" Why did I drink? To forget my worries " You really want to fucking know?!"

"Speak up" she demanded and tears filled my eyes "I drank to forget all my pain! To forget that I am just a shadow with no value to be forgotten at some point! Do you think for a moment it is easy knowing you are not wanted by anyone?! It hurts! Do not even get me started on the numerous insults hurled my way. I can't breathe anymore, I am tired of trying to prove a useless point! I am tired of you treating me like a charity case!" Another slap " Go ahead, hit me all you want, insult me and put it all on repeat because I know you think same of me" I held her " Right? Answer me!" I was shaking her now and she was yelling at me to leave her

She pushed me to the floor and stayed there... My leg was hurt. "Now I get it. You didn't bring me here because you cared, you brought me here to fulfill all righteousness. Welly thank you Jennifer but I am not a charity case and I was happy with my dirty and poor life back in Nigeria! At least, I was happy!" I got up slowly and stared at her then Darcey "I was so happy to be here you know, I wanted to finally meet my cousin but this is what I get. Thank you for bringing me here but I cannot stay any longer"

I ran out of the house, ignoring the shouts. Tears fell down my eyes as I kept in running. I saw the car coming at full speed and maybe it was my despondency acting but I ran in front of the car and darkness engulfed me as everything faded away.
