Jerika and How They Met- On Hold

Flashback Time

3 month old Harper has just started to cry from the bassinet in Blake and Erika's room. Blake wakes up before Erika so he walks turns his lamp on.

" Baby girl its 2 in the morning why are you awake." Blake speaks towards Harper as she cries for him. He picks her up and check her diaper. He sees that she had pooped so he knows that Erika had fed her once before that night. He takes her over to her room and places her on the changing table and puts a pacifier in her mouth to stop her from crying but it doesn't stop her and she starts to turn red in the face. Blake quickly changes her and then leaves her out of clothes and picks her up quickly in just a diaper. He bounces her while he is trying to calm her down. A few minutes go by and Harper has still not settled down and Erika was walking into her room.

" what's wrong Blake" Erika ask groggy as she walks in and over to him where he is in the rocking chair trying to rock her to sleep.

" I don't know she woke up around 2 and was crying I changed her because she had pooped but she won't stop crying... she's been crying for at least 15 minutes. Is she hungry" Blake says as he looks up at Erika.

" I don't think so but I'll try to feed her." Erika says as she reaches for the baby and Blake stands up and gives her to Erika. Erika sits in the chair and cradles Harper lifting her shirt and allowing her to latch on. She bring her to her nipple and Harper cries at first but after a few minutes she latches on and sucks at Erika gently.

" she shouldn't even be hungry I fed her an hour ago and then she ate 2 hours before that." Erika says as she watches Harper

" did she finish" Blake ask

"I don't know. It was weird she would eat for a few minutes then comes off so I thought she was done but then she'd cry to be put back on thats why I went downstairs because she did it for almost and hour. I'm gonna ask the doctor at her appointment. " Erika says as she brushes her hand across the baby's cheek. Harper slowly sucks at Erika for another 15 minutes and then Erika pulls her off because she stopped sucking and was using her as a pacifier. As soon as she does Harper begins to cry again so Erika tries to latch her back on but she doesn't after a few minutes she does latch on. This goes on for 30 minutes until Harper stops completely.

" Try to burp her please" Erika says as she passes Harper to Blake as she continues to cry knowing that she was taken away from her mama... she was a big mama's girl. When Harper does let out a tiny burp she cries for Erika so she takes her. Erika cradles her against her chest as she walks around her room shushing Harper. She gives her a pacifier and swaddles her before picking her back up. Harper loved to be swaddles it normally calmed her down but this time it didn't. Erika kept her swaddles and held her against her chest. Harper's cries subsided a little but she was still whimpering.

" come on baby girl mama and daddy are tired you need to go to sleep for us"Erika tells Harper as her eyes close and she finally goes to sleep.

"lets put her in our bed I don't want her to wake up again. We have her appointment today so we need the sleep" Erika says as she grabs Harper's pacifier and a few other things. Blake takes them out of her hand and they walk to their bedroom. Erika climbs in with Harper on her chest and then she places her in the middle of the bed. Blake then climbs in next to Harper after putting all of her stuff down.

" night baby" Blake says as he leans over Harper to kiss Erika

"night" Erika says as she pecks his lips. They lay back down and Erika stays turned towards Harper just as Blake does. She rest her hand on her stomach and they both doze back off to sleep.

8:00 AM

Erika's alarm just went off to get up and get dressed for Harper's appointment. She slowly climbs out of bed turning it off and putting a pillow next to Harper to insure that she doesn't roll off of the bed. She walks over to Blake's side and shoes him awake.
