CHAPTER 17 MAHAUPDATE
(The preparations fr the marriage was on full swing.....but as both of the familes preferred simple wedding with only them to avoid media...thr was nthn much to do....)
WEDNESDAY.....10.00A.M
Anjali gets a call......from Lavanya...
Anjali:Hello.....tell me Lavanya.....
Lavanya:Hy....di....I had gone to university yesterday those idiots r makin a mountain out of a mole di.....n that guy is on leave tdy who asked me to cm...n tmrw also...so  ill be leavin on Friday....n i might reach thr on Saturday evening
Anjali:oh....ok....take ur time...Lavanya.....
Lavanya:Di...did u ppl finalise fr engagement??
Anjali:Yes....its on Monday.....u'll get to attend the function Lavanya....don worry.....
Lavanya:OK...bye di...
Anjali:bye(sighs)
Shyam hears the conversation n asks...
Shyam:Anju...u r nt the person who’ll lie....then y r u lien to her when she is trustin u so much??
Anjali:trust??Even Khushi trusts her as a frn Shyam...can’t u see wat is she dng fr her trust...after knwin everythn jus bcs of her obsession to Arnav she is ready to go to any extent...to stop this alliance.. then me bein her sister can lie to her 100 times to save this marriage when both of them r willin...its nt tht Khushi agrees so easily by God’s grace she has agreed i just don want to spoil tht bcs of Lavanya’s immaturity....n its nt that chote is in love with her n i am stopping them..its just her obsession which she considers to be love thts all.....
Shyam:U r right Anju...but won’t Lavanya feel betrayed by u...n start hatin u??
Anjali:Let her...i don mind....in the long run its good fr all that wat i care abt....

THURSDAY....MORNING 5.00A.M
(Arnav returns from London in the early mrng flight....n straightly goes to his room...his Nani was nt  yet awake...n he always carried a spare key of his house with him bcs of his schedule...n from 4 days he had been workin continuously to finish the work he had to do in a week as he had to cm to India Thursday ...n havin meetings n calls back to back he was hell tired....he wished he could sleep at least fr 2 days straight but he couldn’t bcs of the pre fashion show event as they ll be havin it in Goa the next month,n he had to work on it...n coordinate his ppl in Mumbai branch.... so he slept as soon as he came...but had to get up as he had meetin in AR at 11...n Nani had infrmed that they would have his haldi at 9...n he can leave fr his meetin after it..so he could only get sleep of 2hrs...)

Arnav had usually cm in his t shirt n jeans...but after lot of drama frm Nani n Anjali he changed in to simple white kurta...n pants...n since there were hardly around 10 ppl his nani,anjali,shyam,NK...n few close family members...it took just 1 hr to finish...the ritual...after finishing he left to his room...to get ready to his office...
Nani:Anjali beta....haldi at khushi beta’s house is at 11 right??
Anjali:Ya nani...since i din want to miss chote’s or khushi’s i asked uncle to keep it at 11...so that i can leave frm here...after finishin chote’s....i'll leave now nani...shyam..n Nk will be here...if u need anythn just tell them...
Nani:ok beta...u go...
Anjali calls NK....
Anjali:NK bhai chote has nt selected his shervani plss go with him n help in getting shervani...i ll ask shyam to accompany also....
NK:Di....do u think he ll agree...he’ll kill me if i ask him....u knw he doesn’t like traditional wear....n do u think he’ll agree to this...
Anjali:Ok go to AR...N select one best shervani fr him....tdy n get it...
NK:But di...will he wear it??
Anjali:Leave that to me NK bhai....i ll handle(she smiles)
NK:As u say di....
(She leaves to gupta house)
Here also there were only few ppl with khushi  in white top with red border n long white skirt with red border with hair tied in a side bun.....
One by one strted applyin haldi on her....n both her parents prayed to god to give all the happiness to her daughter...even Payal had also cm...n she also applied haldi on her sister happily....Anjali took a photo of Khushi thinkin to send to her chote...

Arnav was in a presentation whr his designer team was showin their designs n clothes which would be presented on the show...when he gt a messg..to his phone...he opened it to find a photo with a messg....TO BE MRS RAIZADA’S HALDI....reading it he gave one of his rarest smiles...n a pic of Khushi in white dress with haldi all over face,hands n legs...he admitted she looked etheral.... n MRS RAIZADA would be khushi in 2 days n would be addressed the same by all...he would finally get someone to call as his...his better half....n with these thoughts he concentrated on his work...

(Khushi was standin in the balcony of her room lost in thoughts when Sohan came...)
Sohan:Kuku....only 1 day is left then u’ll be officially Mrs Arnav Singh Raizada....
Khushi:Hmmm....is thr any book which has tips fr successful marriage sohan??
Sohan:wat?
Khushi:its just that i am scared....so thought of readin any book on it....
Sohan:Kuku....each n every person is different n there is no perfect frmula fr successful marriage....fr every person situations n circumstances will be different...
Khushi:but...
Sohan:Kuku.....Arnav seems to be a nice guy...just go with a flow try to understand him wat he says n his unspoken words also try to bond with each other emotionally ,make a sincere effort to work on it...than considerin it a responsibility...Promise me u ll try sincerely without any thoughts of ur past....??n whenever u need ill be thr...ok!!

Arnav had called his PA n asked him to get the red lehenga n send it to gupta house which he had designed few days ago...fr one of his ethnic collection...but now thinkin as nani wanted them the groom side to send the bridal dress...the first picture came to his mind was Khushi in his designed red lehenga she would look beautiful....but he wanted to ask Khushi abt it...whether she liked it or nt or does she need any alterations in that??

ASR:Did u get the lehenga that  I sent??actually nani wanted it...so
Khushi:Ya i gt it....thank you...its really beautiful

Friday there was a simple mehandi function...in both the houses with Arnav busy with his work....n Nani n Anjali checkin last minute preparations....n Shyam n NK helpin the duo....

Nani came to Arnav’s room....
Nani:Chote can i spk to u fr few mins??
ASR:Ya...nani....
Nani:Chote frm tmrw onwards u’ll nt be just a grandson or the ASR but also a husband,a son in law,brother in law....fr ur wife’s family....when a grl comes after getting married she would expect somethn frm her inlaws n husband....n accordin to me chote...respect n trust on each other are very imp in the long run....there might be situations when u feel like givin up on each other but only understandin each other n respectin each other wishes helps to sustain relationship...n try to understand her before thinkin abt any decision that is related to u both...be vocal abt ur feelings....tell her wat u are feelin,n wat u want bcs lack of communication might spoil so many thngs....will u try all these chote??
ASR:I promise nani...i ll try to be a good husband n also good son in law fr her family....(smiles)

SATURDAY MORNING....
AT THE TEMPLE....
The portion of the temple where marriage is to be held...was secured with security considering to be the ASR’S marriage n also bcs no one should get to knw abt it....n ppl enterin that area was totally banned as NK had made sure of it according to ASR’S orders....
AT RM......11.00AM
Anjali:Chote.....we want u to wear this sherwani!!!
ASR:No way di.....i wont i wont be comfortable in that....
Anjali:Nt even fr Khushi??
ASR:wat the!!wat has it gt to do with Khushi now??
Anjali:Actually Khushi had asked abt wat u would wear yesterday...but when i told u would wear suit...she looked sad....
ASR:(shocked)Really?but she din tell me anythn when i called to ask abt lehenga...
Anjali:offfoh!!!how would she ask u chote....think....that wat r u wearing....to u!!
ASR:hmmm
Anjali:Atleast fr Khushi....she would be happy...
ASR:(sighs)fine give it...{he din want her to be upset jus bcs of a stupid dress as he recalled Nani’s words)
Anjali(smilin):thank you....here take it....
Arnav along with nani,anjali,shyam n their kids,NK had arrived....n arnav was seated in the place where pandit ji had asked him too....n pandit ji...asked to call the bride....where Khushi came wearing there in red lehenga with pallu pleated n placed on the left shoulder n matchin red duppatta placed on her head......with 2 to 3 sets of necklaces that adorned her neck...n a pair of jhumka’s that moved as she walked n her long waist length hair was tied in to a bun which was covered with dupatta...placed over her head....n there was a beautiful mangtika placed in her partition...with a set of bangles that rested on her hands...with the kohl lined eyes making her eyes look more significant n beautiful.....it was like Arnav was hypnotized to look at the beauty infrnt of him....who looked nthn but like a goddess of beauty...who will be his wife soon....he thought...
Pandit ji....started chantin mantra’s n ...n they finished all rituals one by one
N finally tied mangalsutra to Khushi making her his wife fr the upcoming 7 lives.....n later they took blessings of all the elders.....present ...
Anjali: Common lets take pictures...of the newly married couple....
(n they started takin pics of the newly wedded....)
(Sohan could see Arnav very much uncomfortable...in the shervani so asked...)
Sohan:R u feelin uncomfortable bcs of shervani??
ASR:Actually....yes(he smiles slightly)
Sohan:Then u could have worn somethn else na in which ur comfortable even Di told that u ll wear suit itself to marriage....N Khushi had told her its ultimately ur wish to choose wat u want to wear bcs its big day fr u also...
(Anjali heard this conversation so when Arnav looked at her she smiled sheepishly....)
Nani: Chote....will finish the bidaii here ....but shashi beta wants all of us to visit Gupta house n have lunch at their place bfre sendin Khushi to RM....is it fine with u??
ASR:I don have any prblm Nani.....
Around 2 they reached Gupta house with a little bit of teasin the couple  everyone had their lunch..n spent time bcs it was all of a sudden....marriage so Nani wanted Khushi to spend sometime with her family....

Garima:Khushi.....if i have hurt u by anyway plss frgive me.....i just wish u have a good life like others beta....
Khushi:(teary)No amma...i knw....i luv u both....(hugs her)
Shashi:Beta......i just wish you all the happiness in life frm tdy ur newlife starts beta.....frgt everythn n start a new life beta....
Khushi:(teary)hugs him.....i’ll papa........
She hugs Sohan n payal also who is also teary eyed....
Sohan:Arnav she doesn’t tell wat she feels most of the time....plss try to understand her unspoken words ....she is gem of a person by heart....
ASR:Don worry Sohan....i ll try my best to be a good husband fr her....
Nani:Ok shashi beta we’ll take ur leave....its already 5.30....we ll reach by 7 over thr....n we need to welcome our daughter in law in to the house ...also
Shashi:Ok Subhadra ji...Namaste...
Nani:Namaste....
(Everyone along with Anjali,shyam,NK..n Nani cm in one car....where as Khushi n Arnav cm in another car with the driver....)

Lavanya reaches RM from the airport thinkin to spk to Nani n Arnav n make them understand to stop this alliance....but the door is opened by HP....who infrms them they have gone out....n will return very soon..(as Anjali had infrmed him nt to tell anyone anythn abt the marriage)n Anjali had called Hp a while bfre to tell him to keep the aarthi thaal ready as they ll reach in few mins.....makin Lavanya wait fr Arnav unaware of the happenings
AFTER SOMETIME....DOOR BELL RINGS...
Hp opens the door.....n Nani n Anjali...enters inside to find Lavanya there waiting....Anjali gave a look to Shyam...sayin see this....n Shyam shakes his head seein Lavanya’s behaviour...
Nani:Lavanya...wat a surprise..!!!give me 5 mins  i'll finish the ritual then spk to u ok??
Lavanya(confused)Ok nani
Nani asked HP to get aarthi thaal n nani n anjali along with Lavanya with Lavanya havin no idea wat is happenin thr...
Nani calls.....Chote...cm with Khushi beta...now
N there stood Arnav n Khushi with garlands held in their hands with a pinch of sindoor on Khushi’s fore head..n mangalsutra in her neck....makin Lavanya shocked seein them so...was brought out of the thoughts when Nani asked Arnav to lift Khushi n enter the house as she had finished pushin the rice pot with her foot when lavanya was standin shocked anaware of the surroundings...
N so obediently Arnav lifted Khushi swiftly much to khushi’s surprise....n entering the house n also enterin the new phase of life.........
