"Aviella, come on. You're gonna be late." I say, picking Bella up.

She's barely holding on to her bottle since she's still half asleep, and she lays her head on my shoulder while I grab my keys.

Aviella finally comes downstairs with her backpack and lunch so we can leave.

"Say bye to daddy. He'll be at work when you get home."

She runs into my bedroom and returns to me a few seconds later.

"I'm ready, mommy."

"Great, lets go."

We walk out to the car and I put Bella in her car seat while Aviella gets in next to her. We had a late start this morning because I woke up later than I was supposed to, and Bella decided she was gonna sleep in today, so I had to wake her up so we could leave. I gave her a bottle so she wouldn't be fussy, not that it was working.

"Mommy, what happens if I'm late to school?" Aviella asks as I back out of the driveway.

"Nothing, babe. You're just late. I sign you in at the office and you go to class, just like you would on any other day."

Bella starts to cry for a reason I do not know, and I look at her in the rear view mirror.

"She just dropped her bottle." Aviella picks her bottle up off of the floor and gives it to her sister.

"Thank you."

Of course, there's traffic on the highway and every traffic light wants to be red, but I finally make it to Aviella's school 11 minutes late.

While she gets her stuff to get out of the car, I take Bella from her car seat and we go inside the school. I haven't been in here in a while, but I do remember where the office is, so I go there to sign Avi in, then she asks me to walk her to class.

"Of course, babe." Aviella leads me to her classroom and we stop in front of the open door.

"Have a good day, baby. I love you."

"Love you too, mama." I kiss Aviella's head and she gives Bella a hug before walking into her classroom.

I give Bella a hug before walking into my classroom. Alexa and Tessa are waiting for me to sit down at our table, but Lukas is waiting for me to hug him, so I go do that before going to sit with my best friends.

"Avi, where have you been?" Tessa asks.

"My mommy woke up late, but it's okay. What are we doing?" I pull my homework out of my backpack and place it on my desk.

"Thank you, Miss Aviella. Welcome to class." My teacher, Mrs. Ellis says as she takes it from my desk.

"Okay class, today we're doing spanish and spelling. Please get your spelling words out for this week and start studying them. Our quiz will be after recess."

Mrs. Ellis sits at her desk to grade our homework and we all get out our spelling words.

"Will one of you test me? I think I have all of them but I just want to check." Alexa says.

"I will." I say.

Alexa nods, looking over her words one more time before giving them to me.

"You know I have my own." I say.
