I ran a hand through my hair, taking a deep breath before I closed my trunk and headed downstairs, plastering a small smile on my face. Ever since Voldemort has returned, I've been dreading going back to Hogwarts, leaving my father, who was now being hunted, and coming back to a rumor raught school, plauged with lies and nasty stares. This will also be my last year at Hogwarts with George, who would be graduating at the beginning of summer. But first we were headed to Diagon Alley, to get our books and new robes for the year.
Once we had arrived, Mrs. Weasley started bustling around, telling us to get the things we can by ourselves. But before I could head for the book store, George pulled me aside. "Come on." He said, taking my hand and leading me to an abandoned store.
"What are we doing here?" I asked, looking up at him with my eyebrows stitched together.
"See, Elizabeth, you know how Fred and I were going to start a joke shop? Well, your brother gave us the money, and well, this is where it's going to be." He said smiling down at me. "You're the first one I told, the first one I wanted to tell." He continued, reaching up a hand and caressing my cheek, his eyes smiling along with his mouth. "Elizabeth," he said, pulling out a small velvet box. I gasped, putting a hand over my mouth instinctively. We were too young to get married, but I loved him, but... As if reading my mind, he continued, "don't worry darling, it's not an engagement ring, at least not yet." George stated, winking at me. "It's a promise ring, I love you, Elizabeth, and I promise to keep loving you, no matter what, I don't care what people think of us, I don't care who your mother is, or that you're a black, I don't care that you can be broken, because I can be too, and I'll be there to pick you up and dust you off when you are broken, cause I'm broken without you, and I need your love in my life, I'll always love you and that's all I care about, you loving me and me loving you back, just as much, if not more, will you promise that to me too? Elizabeth? Will you wear this ring to symbolize our love for each other?" I nodded my head slowly, my hand still plastered over my mouth, and a joyful tear slipping down my face. I only took my hand off to throw my arms around him, kissing him deep and passionately on the lips, not caring if anyone was watching.
"I would have promised that any day, without the ring." I whispered in his ear, wrapping my arms around his neck and nestling my face in his shoulder.
"I love you" he whispered, his face buried in my hair, and a tear slipping down his face as well.
"I love you too." I whispered back into his neck.
"Where have you two been?" Ron asked when we returned. Giving us our bags and scowling at us.
"Sorry Ron, had some business to attend to." George said smiling, and intertwining his hand in mine.
"Goodness, George, what'd you do to make her cry." Ginny said, walking up to us and noticing my red eyes.
"I didn't do anything!!!" George stated, faking a hurt look and throwing a hand on his chest dramatically.
"Well technically, you did." I corrected him, and he held up our intertwined hands to reveal the rose gold ring with small diamonds embedded in it.
"You proposed!!!" Ginny yelled excitedly, earning glances from a few customers.
"You WHAT?" Mrs. Weasley said rather loudly, earning more looks from the concerned customers.
"No no, mum, Gin, calm down, please, you're scaring the customers. I didn't propose, calm down a bit."George said calmly, letting go of my hand to let Ginny and Hermione inspect the ring.
"It's a promise ring." He explained, grinning wider than ever before.
"Good job Georgie," Fred exclaimed, cuffing George on the shoulder. "I knew you had it in you."

"Well, did you give it to her?" My father asked as we walked into the warm, dark house.
"Yes I did Mr. Black." George replied smirking.
"Well then let's see." My father said, gesturing me to show him my hand and putting on some reading glasses. "Ahh, very nice choice, George." Sirius said, smiling at me broadly.
"Thanks to Luna, I figured her best friend would know what she'd like best." Replied George grinning and taking my hand in his own. "Wait, you were a part of this Dad?" I asked, suprise written all over my face. "Of course I was, you see, your very smart boyfriend asked my permission before giving that to you, a very good choice on his half, anyway, he told me the whole plan, where he was gonna give it to you, when he was... But just because you have my permission, doesn't mean I'll kill you any less if you hurt her." He said, directing the last sentence to George.
The rest of the night consisted of finishing packing and eating dinner, then going to bed happily full and warm in my George's safe, strong arms.
