A happy ending - Dylan's regret

Falling

His newly black hair waved about while the sky grew grey . The rain came pouring down to soak the ground and to mourn the dead . He found tears on his face , facing the tombstone with black roses , Cats favorites . He laid them down in front of her grave , saying nothing at all , he then walked away with his colorful eyes full of darkness . 

At the entrance of the gate to the graveyard , she wouldn't dare set foot in , was Lilly , her ginger hair just like Cats . Dylan lifted his head slightly , glaring directly into her eyes , giving such an evil smile . For weeks after her death , it was his first smile , but why did it have to be like that ? Dylan looked back to the sorrowful ground and walked right past Lilly , his hands tucked in the pockets of his pitch black suit .

"I wished I had saved her . I'll make it up to her by protecting you ." Dylan said as he released a cold energy into Lilly , slightly touching her shoulder with his . No words followed but how could he be trusted ? How could people put faith in someone who couldn't save his love ? He walked away , Lilly followed behind .
Getting into the drivers seat , Dylan realized Lilly was taking her sweet time to get in . He stared out into the misty parking lot from his car window . His eyes widened to the sight of Lilly lying still on the ground . He rushed out the car , smelling the damp floor from the air around him . Dylan turned Lilly around and saw her green eyes were closed , while they sat there her ginger hair was getting wetter and she was growing colder . He had to think fast . He used a spell to teleport them to the nearest supernatural hospital . She was soaking wet in his arms , all he could see was Cat . The nurses took her from him and put her in the E.R . Dylan couldn't help but panic in the waiting room , he walked up and down awaiting Adams arrival who he called when he got there . 

"Dylan !" Adam came rushing in , he was still huge and still head over heals for his pregnant lover , Lilly . 

"Adam , you got here fast ." Dylan walked up to him , his hair dripping down . 

"of coarse . Lilly is my life ." Adam said looking around . "How is she ?" 

"Still no word from the doctors ." Dylan said grasping harder onto his black hat that he would take everywhere . Silence "We may as well take a seat , they might be a while ." Adam refused to say anything else all he did was sit there , staring into the abyss , sort of like a robot or a possessed human . It wasn't particularly quiet as they had the time ticking in there ears . 

Hours and hours had passed , a stressful looking doctor walked in "Adam ?" he called out . 

"That would be me ." Adam said standing up , folding his big arms . 

"Lilly is going to be okay ." The doc said placing a comforting hand on Adams shoulder , Dylan sat with a sigh of relief . "But , we need to monitor her for a few days . She's a vampire right ?" 

"Y.....yes ." Adam stuttered , Dylan remembered that he's a little bit shy . 

"Well we need to keep giving extra blood as the baby turns out to be a vampire too . The baby is also growing at a remarkable speed , she should give birth at around five months along ." The doc said looking at the reports . "So that's in 2 months time . It may not be visible much now but trust me , it will show a lot in the next few weeks ." Dylan and Adams hearts grew with fear , for Lilly and the baby . 

They both sat there , checking the time continuously , awaiting visiting hours . "Hey , you want something to eat ?" Dylan offered 

"Just some coffee , please ." Adam asked , about to burst into tears

Dylan walked outside to the opposite side of the hospital where the visitors coffee shop was built not too long ago . He walked in and ordered two large coffees . It was a beautiful girl at the counter , she had the same sparkle in her eyes , the same as Cat had when she was alive . All of a sudden , Dylan went into a daze , tears rolled down his real pale face . He must have looked strange with different colored eyes with tears coming out , down an awfully pale face , wearing a black suit , with a black hat on his dark black hair . 

"You alright ?" the girl asked him , handing him the coffee . 

"yeah . How much ?" Dylan said pulling out his wallet . 

"Oh no , it's on me , I'll pay , you look like you have had it rough ." Dylan gave her a smile of affection . "Hey , do you want to , get lunch later ? My shift is nearly over ?" 

Dylan turned around and smiled again , it was the most real smile he has pulled off since her death "I would like that and thank you for the coffee ." he walked away from her with his face to the ground . It was just a friendly lunch right ? It must have been because she felt sorry for him . That could be the only reason . 

Adam was no longer there , he must have been with Lilly , it seemed to be visiting time . Dylan walked down the long , sterilized passage , searching for the room . She had dark eye bags , and was even more pale than Dylan . He saw her condition and looked disappointed in himself . 

"Here's your coffee . I'm going to have lunch . See you later ." Dylan said coldly without saying anything else or even letting them say anything to him  . The place smelled of all sorts of medicine , it made him feel sick . The extreme white walls wanted him to make them paint it black , the cold feels of his hands entering his warm pockets reminded him of Cats touch , something he longed for once again .
