A happy ending - Dylan's regret

Dylan couldn't help but stare at Cat , it was almost a little creepy since Lilly , Ruby and Adam were also in the lounge . 

"Stop starring at me ." Cat said blushing , rubbing her arm a little . 

"Sorry , I'm just so .... I don't even have words for how I'm feeling ." Dylan said closing his eyes trying to put the pieces together . Why was all this happening ? Who could be this powerful as to basically bring someone back to life ? 

"It's alright Uncle Dylan ." Ruby said grabbing his hand and looking into his eyes . "I can help ." She said trying to comfort him he thought . 

"It's alright ." Dylan picked ruby up to put her on his lap . 

Looking up Ruby's sweet , child voice sounded more like the tears would rise any moment , she looked sad "I'm serious ." They looked into each others eyes , Ruby's eyes started glowing . She jumped off of Dylan . "Cathrine , please give me your hand . Dylan , you too ." She grabbed their hands and told Cat directly "Please think hard and remember what happened after you died ." 

The three of them closed their eyes . Dylan felt like he was in a another world , a third party basically to Cat's thoughts . He stood in the place of Cat in this fantasy world . Dylan could now see what Cat saw from her eyes after her death . Floating up as a spirit , the next thing Cat saw was the funeral . It seemed a little sad , as she turned her head , she saw a weird guy , peeking from behind the tree . He had black hair and slight grey hair here and there with a little grey goatie , he looked like he was about in his late 40's . Dylan could feel the same things Cat felt in that moment . The man looked directly in her eyes and gave an evil grin . She felt terrified , why was she there ? How did this guy even see her standing there ? She felt paralyzed , she couldn't move . 

The dark clouds cried , mourning the loss of Cat as everyone left the graveyard . For some reason , Dylan couldn't see the mans face , was it because Cat and Darlene had absolute no memory of it ? 

"Get out ." the man shouted pulling Darlene out of a big white van , she was all tied up . Dylan just wanted to kill this bastard already . 

He threw Darlene into a big upside pentagram drawn on the ground in front of Cats Grave . He began enchanting , his eyes glowed a bright red , it felt intimidating , the pentagram also started glowing a bright purple . Cat blinked for a second and it all went black . Darlene woke up and Cat was looking through the same eyes as her . Cat felt like she was locked away at the back of Darlene's mind but their were cameras , she could see and hear but couldn't speak from the same mouth . 

"Hello ?" Cat shouted , banging on the door . "Where am I ?" 

Darlene jumped , she was scared , hearing noises in her mind while in a grave yard doesn't seem pleasing . "I'm Darlene , I'm the vessel for your soul , but only once I die ." She said to the back of her mind . "That's all I'm aware of  ." 

Dylan let go of Ruby's hand , realizing he didn't need or want to know more . "I need some time ." he got up from his seat and looked to the plain white tiled floor as he walked outside . It was dark , Dylan needed time . Walking around the school , it was very quiet , he enjoyed it . One hand in the suit pocket as usual , he opened the door to the nurses office . 

After a while of standing there , a sweet voice registered his brain "It's nice here right ?" Dylan turned to find cat closing the door behind her .

"Yeah ." pausing for a second he looked to the bed "It's where we first kissed ." 

"I never thought of you to be the reminiscing type , it's too sentimental ." Cat spoke with the serious voice she usually did , this time she tried to do it without crying . 

"i loved Darlene ." Dylan turned around . "But if I had to choose between you and her , I would choose you in a heartbeat ." He took a few more steps toward Cat . Dylan touched Cats face that looked like Darlene , pulling her blond hair behind her ear . 

"Darlene loved you too ." Cat said with a smile , she said now with tears running down her face slowly "You know , I have all her memories ." Cat held Dylan's hand  "She never smiled until she met you . I felt her whole world change because of you ." Dylan pulled cat in , embracing her , her neck sat on his shoulder and the both began to cry . "Darlene wanted me to tell you , that she's grateful to you , she's grateful she got the chance to be happy with you ." 

"Cat ." Dylan croaked .

"Its my fault isn't it ?" Cat whispered .

Dylan let go , holding onto Cats shoulders "No , don't say that again ." looking away for a second , he looked back and saw her terrified face . "I couldn't protect you , I'm sorry ." Dylan dropped his hands to his side , looking away again . He never knew he had to face Cat again , he was scared because he made an empty promise to the women he loves most in the world . 

"I'm here now ." Cat said 

"I won't let you go , I will make things right ." Dylan said as tears streamed down her face . "I love you Cat ." 

"I love you too Dylan ." Cat said leaning forward , closing her eyes as he closed his eyes too , they kissed . Dylan knew it was Cat by just touching her body and kissing her pink lips . It was different from Darlene .
