A/N: When ever I write for Fullmetal Alchemist I'm going to be basing it off brotherhood for the most part so SPOILER WARNING ⚠️ Also, reader will be short in this, sorry if you're not. Enjoy the story~

(Y/n)'s P.O.V~

Hello everyone, how are you? My name is (y/n) (l/n). I used to be an orphaned girl when my parents died of some plague but now I'm living in a new home with wonderful people. You see, when my parents died, I left my home and began to wonder around looking for a new place to stay.

I eventually stumbled upon a mechanic shop in a small town called Resembool. I was so exhausted and weak that I collapsed on their front yard. They were really kind and let me stay with them. That's how I came to live with the Rockbell family. It's been about a year since I have lived with them and I have learned a lot about them.

Winry told me about her parents, they taught me about automail, and they told me about the famed Elric brothers. I have yet to meet them but from Winry and Granny Pinako have told me, I feel like I already know them. I asked one time if I could meet them but Winry said they never call and rarely visit.

This also induced an anger rant about how they could at least stop by for dinner every once in a while. I honestly loved living here with the Rockbell's. They feel like my own family now. Anyways, I was laying in my bed just trying to relax when I heard a loud crash and a pained cry.

I also heard Winry yelling something about calling first. Curiosity filled me and I left the confides of my room to investigate. When I got to the main room, I was met with the sight of two new people. A smaller boy with golden hair and eyes and a very tall suit of armour. I immediately recognise them as the Elric brothers.

"Oh (y/n) good timing, I was just about to get you! This is Edward and Alphonse." Winry said as she pointed to the respective boy. "It's nice to meet you, my name is (y/n)." I said to them, slightly quieter than I would have liked. I guess I'm still not used to being around people.

"No need to be shy! A friend of Winry is a friend of ours." Edward said with a big smile. "Yah, brothers right. Consider us friends now (y/n)." Alphonse chimed in with a kind voice. I could feel myself relax at their comforting words. This was going to be the start of a beautiful friendship.

**small time skip**

It's been close to two weeks since the Elric brothers have come back to Resembool and I have gotten quite close to them. They told about their sin and the prices they paid and they told me about their past when they would play with Winry and fight over her.

I wish I could have know them back then. Since the brothers have gotten here I also learned about their personalities. Edward is the more outgoing, short-tempered brother. He tends to act without thinking and has a hard time expressing his feelings but I know he cares. He hates milk and will blow a fuse if you call him short.

He once said he liked me cause we were the same height. Alphonse on the other hand is the calmer, younger brother. He is more on the reserved side and is very sweet. He loves cats and is more rational than his brother. I am a bit closer to Alphonse seeing as we have a lot in common. Ed is like a brother and I greatly ship him with Winry.

I, however, have grown to develop a slight liking to the younger Elric. I have spent nights awake with him since his body can't sleep. We would talk for hours about what he would do when he gets his body back. We would also try to think of ways to convince Ed to get a cat. We truly just click.

This morning, however, they brothers gave us all the news that they had to leave. "We are leaving tomorrow morning, we can't waste anymore time getting our bodies back. Winry, I promised the next time I make you cry it will be tears of joy. I'm going to keep that." Edward said, looking at said blonde girl.

He then turned to me. "(Y/n). Me and Al may not have known you long but I'm making a promise to you too. We'll get our bodies back and then we can truly get to know each other." He then walked up to me and whispered in my ear. "And when we get our bodies back I'm sure Al will want to get to know you really good." He pulled away with a cheeky smile and I could feel my face burning.

He knew?! I punched him in the shoulder but he just laughed. We all walk out to see the brothers off and when we got outside, Al pulled me to the side. "Like brother said I know we haven't know you for long but I feel like I've known you forever. You have treated me like a normal human and I really appreciate it. I guess what I'm trying to say is I think I like you (y/n)." My cheeks flare up once more at his words.

"I like you too Alphonse. I know you'll get your body back and when you do. I'll be here waiting for you." I pull him down and place a kiss where his cheek would be. "I'm counting on it." I could hear the smile in his voice and we walk back to the others. The Elric brothers say goodbye and head off with a wave.

"What did Al say (y/n)?" Winry asked with a mischievous smile. "Oh just that you and Ed would be cute together." I joked at her. It was her turn to blush and she shouted at me embarrassed. We laughed and head back inside with Granny. We were confident the next time we saw the brothers they would be back in their own bodies.

**TIME SKIP**

It had been a while since the Elric brothers had left and even though I was confident they were fine, I couldn't help worrying. I knew Winry felt the same as well. We were in the kitchen and I was helping her bake an apple pie. We heard Den barking outside. "What is that dog barking out now?" Winry sighed out.

"I'm not sure." I said back when we heard two familiar voices. We both went to the front door and Winry opened it. What we saw brought tears to my eyes. Edward and Alphonse Elric. My sweet Alphonse in his own body. Edward with his arm back. They'd done it. They kept their promise.

Both me and Winry ran to them and tackled them in a hug. When we stood, I looked into the golden eyes of the boy who holds my heart. "You did it Alphonse, you got your body back." Tears escaped my eyes as I hugged him once more.

When we pulled back he gently cupped my cheek and placed a warm kiss on my lips. My heart fluttered at the feeling. "I love you (y/n). Thank you for waiting for me." He said when we pulled back. "I loved you too Al, and I told you. I'd wait for you until the end of time if I had too."

Our sweet moment was broken when the other Elric opened his mouth. "My dear younger brother is all grown up, how cute." I turned and glared at him. I walked over and punched him in the shoulder and then pulled him into a hug a well. He tensed up and I could tell I surprised him.

"I knew you both could do it. Thank you for keeping your promise. I also think you should tell Winry how you feel before it's to late." I pulled out of the hug and walked back over to Alphonse and we went inside, leaving a flustered and a confused Winry outside.

Alphonse and I settled on the couch and began to talk. "So what are you going to do now that you got your body back?" I held his hand, gently stroking his soft skin. "Well I want to go to Xing and learn all about alkahestry." I could feel myself sadden a bit but I was willing to support him.

"So you're leaving again? Just promise me you'll be safe okay?" He chuckles a bit and places his other hand on top of mine. "That's just it (y/n). I want you to come with me. I don't want to leave you and I really do love you. Please come to Xiang with me. Stay by my side (y/n)." More tears spill and I pull him into another hug. "Of course I'll go with you! I love you so much Alphonse Elric." And that was the start of a beautiful relationship.
