Laxus Dreyar x reader

A/N: I have an absolute obsession with Fairy Tail so I will more than likely be posting quite a bit for these beloved characters. So here is a oneshot for our dear animated Thor!!

(Y/n P.O.V~)

I have been in fairytail for a little over three years now. I absolutely love everyone in the guild but there is one person who has particularly caught my eye. His name is Laxus Dreyar, the lightning dragon slayer.

Everyone calls me crazy for loving someone like him but I couldn't care less. Sure, he's always insulting me and making snarky remarks but...yah...I guess I don't know why I like him either...but that's irrelevant.

The point is I like him. My new problem is that I'm starting to reach the point of hopelessness. The more he ignores me the more discouraged I get. Who wouldn't though?

Imagine the person you like degrading you each and every day and no matter how hard you try you know, you'll never be god enough. They'll never return your affection and you are stuck in a unrequited love until you can let go.

Well that's the hell I live each day. I am just about over it. As much as I love Laxus, I don't know how much more my heart can handle. I decided to bake him some homemade cookies since baking has always been a hobby (A/N: I almost typed Hobi...this is not a BTS story...) of mine.

I walk into the guild with a smile on my face. As always, everything is lively and I can't help the warm feeling I get when I see my family. I casually walk up to the top floor and spot the tall blonde male I have my sights set on.

I approach him and clear my throat to get his attention. He turns to me a not so pleased look spreads his features. "Ugh, it's you. What do you want." My nerve waver slightly at his tone but I don't let it stop me.

"Good morning Laxus, I baked you some cookies!" I state with a bright smile as I present him the bag of sweets. He smirks and lets out a cynical laugh. "As if I'd accept something from the likes of you. You disgust me. You're pathetic and weak. You don't deserve to be a member of the fairytail guild." He spoke with a degrading tone. I look down and my chest tightens.

My fists are clenched and I bit my lip to fight the tears. I taste the metallic flavour of my own blood from my bitten lip and I lose my composure. The tears break loose but I refuse to raise my head.

"For so many years I have tried to get you to accept me. I've tried my damn hardest to get you to notice me but all I get is ridicule and disgusted tones. Being called ugly, fat, stupid, annoying, weak, obnoxious, and so much more." I pause and take a shaky breath.

"For so many years I've loved you but it's clear I will never get the affection I so desire. It's clear all I am to you is a pest. It's clear you hate me and want me gone so you know what? You win. You've got what you want. I'm broken. I give up. I'll leave you alone from now on, I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused." With that, I set the bag of sweets at his feet and turn away. I walk out of the guild, my body shaking with sobs as I head to my home.

3rd Person P. O. V. ~

Laxus sits at the table with a shocked expression. Never had he though that would be her reaction. (Y/n) had always been a ball of sunshine, and she was always following him around with admiration encasing her entire being.

She couldn't even hurt a fly so lashing out was the last thing to expect from her. He never meant for any of this to happen. If he was to be honest, he'd always had a bit of a crush on (y/n). He was just bad a showing his emotions so whenever she came around, he would get flustered and make a rude comment.

He never meant it. He's always thought she was beautiful and amazing. He never wanted to hurt her but that's exactly what he just did, and he knew he had to make things right...

(Y/n) P. O. V. ~

I sat on the bed in my apartment with tear stained cheeks. My heart was heavy and shattered. The one I love just broke me like glass thrown to pavement. I felt hallow.

I stared blankly at my wall when a pounding sounded from my door. Whoever it was really had horrible timing. I do not want to social at the moment. But I can't just leave them standing outside.

I rise and head to the door, when I open it I nearly flew back. There stood Laxus. The one who just shattered my entire soul. "What? Here to break me some more. Hate to burst your bubble but that's not really possible." I spoke with a cold voice, unforgiving.

I can see an emotion in his eyes but I can't quite place what, guilt perhaps? "No..(y/n)...I never meant to hurt you. I'm just bad at...emotions. I can't deal with people crying, I don't know how to respond to kindness, and I sure as hell don't know what to do when I like someone. That's why I'm like this, I like you (y/n)." He spoke with sincerity, something quite rare for him.

"Laxus...are you being serious right now?" He nods his head in response and tears once again sting my eyes, this time of happiness. "Laxus, I like you too. I really do." He lets out a small smile and pulls me into his strong arms.

"I'm sorry for the way I've treated you. I promise I'll be better but please, go out with me." He whispers to me, stroking my hair. "Yes..." I sigh out, finally feeling some happiness. This day might have started bad but now? It couldn't be better.
