forty sixth

i ran to school.
phil wasn't answering and i was already 5 minutes late to class before i had even left my house.
he could be dead or in a coma or he could've moved away with out telling me.
phil💗sdan: i slept in, i'll see you on english okay babe? xxxx
dan💗sphil: okay xxx
i didn't believe him. i bet his step dad did something.
i bet he'll walk into class with his head nearly ripped off his body.
and i cant protect him from that.

phil sauntered into english just before the teacher came in, which was very lucky.
he didn't have a scratch on his face. i was shocked about that.
"hey babe, so there's a party tonight and i've been invited. will you pleaseeeeee come with me?"
"where is it?"
"josh's house"
the breathe had been knocked out of my body.
"josh who?"
i couldn't breathe.
i couldn't see.
"josh highland why?"
"oh. i was just wondering"
"where does he live?"
"rosewood"
that's right across the street from the church. has phil forgotten or does he not care?
"the one by the church?"
"yeah why?"
i stayed silent. he really really just doesn't care.
the teacher started talking, so i passed phil a note instead.
it read:
"i'll only come if you stay with me the whole time and we can leave if i ask"
"of course dan, anything for you", he whispered into my ear.
why was phil acting like he'd die for me one second and then the next acting like he met me yesterday?
