I jolted awake in my bed, sweating and tears flooding my eyes. I placed my hands down on the sheets, but felt a grimy substance. I looked down and saw that my sheets were covered in dirt. A tear slid down my cheek.

"Leave me alone." I said, but it wasn't my voice.

"Unfortunately, I can't do that." Someone said next to me.

I knew who it was without having to look at him. I closed my eyes and let out a shaky breath.

"Are you real?"

I felt Peter sit up beside me and lean down towards my ear. "Interestingly... that question can also be answered 'not yet'. I promise everything's going to get back to normal, Lydia. All you have to do..."

I felt him being his hand to cup my cheek, and I let out a sob as tears continued to roll down my cheek.

"...is every single thing I ask."

I pursed my lips and did my best not to look at him, but suddenly the scene changed, and I was no longer on a bed, but standing in the middle of a living room.

"We're going to make this party a very special party." I heard him say.

I looked forward to see a window, and two bright red dots glowed in my direction. I let out a whimper as I stared back. I could make out a dark, broad figure, and heard a low growl.

I suddenly let out an ear-piercing scream as the werewolf jumped through the window.

I sat up in my bed screaming bloody murder. My eyes were clamped shut and I couldn't bring myself to open them. I heard my door open and footsteps rush over to me.

"[y/n]!" I heard my mother shout. "It's okay!"

But it wasn't okay. I couldn't stop screaming, and I couldn't open my eyes.

"[y/n]!" My father shouted.

I felt arms wrap around me, and I didn't noticed that I was spazzing in my bed until I was stopped. My eyes finally burst open, and the screaming stop. I heaved in and out, and my throat burned.

I glanced around my room to see everything was normal, my dad was behind me holding me still while my mom stood at the foot of my bed.

"Honey, what happened?" She asked worriedly.

I couldn't talk, so I just let out a whimper and leaned back against my father's chest. I could feel myself growing more and more tired, and my eyes slowly fell shut. I could feel sleep begin to overcome me, and soon all was quiet.

"I can tap into memories?" I asked Deaton as I looked down at the book in front of me.

He simply nodded, and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Anyone's memories?" I asked.

He shrugged. "Ideally, yes, but only the older ones have enough control over the ability."

"Given that the Everna can access the deepest parts of the mind, they often are used for guidance and protection among others." I read from the book. "They're extremely rare, only 2-3 in the world at a time, and cannot be easily distinguished by appearance. Evernas have one of the most rare and powerful abilities; the ability to protect, or 'guard', themselves from the supernatural elements of the world. This is often mistaken as an 'immunity', but the ability is only activated when the Everna is feeling a strong, negative emotion such as fear, anger, or being under threat."
