[Y/N POV]

I pulled in front of the car repair place. It was surrounded by police cars with two ambulances in the middle. Police officers talked among one another and I noticed some paramedics rolling a stretcher to an ambulance. The body was covered with a white sheet, but it was greatly stained with red. I shuttered at the sight, and shifted my eyes to the right to see Stiles sitting in the back of another ambulance with his father talking.

I sat back in my seat, watching to paramedics and police, thinking about who could've done this. Was it one of the new betas? Or just another murderer? At the moment, I just felt relief that Stiles wasn't hurt.

I'm broken out of my thoughts by a tap at the window. I turn to see Stiles, leaning down to look through the window with his hands in his pockets. I unlocked the door and he got in.

"You know, this is the second time I've had to pick you up." I said, trying to lighten the mood. "If this becomes a habit, you're gonna be in great debt, my friend."

He didn't respond, just looked forward at the scene in front of us. I sighed and reached over to grab his hand. Once I held it, he turned to look at me.

"You okay?" I asked him.

He nodded and mumbled, "Yeah"

"What happened?"

He sighed before glancing down at his laps where our hands were, rubbing his thumb along the back of my hand.

"There's this creature." He said. "It's not like Scott, though. It's eyes were almost, like, reptilian."

He stopped before looking up. "But there was something about them."

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

He looked back at me. "You know when you see a friend in a Halloween mask, but all you can actually see are their eyes and you feel like you know them, but you just can't figure out who it is?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Are you saying you know who it is?"

"No." He said. "But I think it knew me."

I walked down the hallway at school when I noticed Scott and Stiles sitting on the steps talking. I walked up to them, and I guess I walked in at the wrong time.

"Look, I'm sorry about the other day. I'm trying." Stiles said to Scott with hand gestures. "We'll get through this."

Scott began to grin.

"I know because I love you." Stiles continued. "I love you more tha-oh my, I can't- you and Allison just have to find a better way to communicate."

I laughed and leaned against the wall beside them. "Aw I thought a little bromance was finally sparking between the two of you."

They both looked at me and rolled their eyes. Stiles held his hand out and I took it.

"There's only you." He said to me with a sweet smile.

I bit my bottom lip and looked at our hands, the heat rising to my cheeks as my chest filled with a fuzzy feeling. As of right now, we had only told Scott and Allison about our official relationship. We wanted to keep it on the downlow, but knowing us both, the word would get out soon enough. Not letting go of my hand, Stiles turned back to Scott.

"You're the only one we can trust." Scott said.

"Um, hello?" I said sarcastically. "Your best friend who is also best friends with your girlfriend is here!"

Scott looked at me and then shrugged, considering it, before looking back to Stiles.

"Is she coming to the game tonight?" He asked him.
