Chapter 11
Recap: Megan and Jale sitting in a tree, doing something private, O-M-G
Jale's POV
"I'm smelly." Megan said distastefully.
"You can take a shower, I just finished."
"Okay."
Megan exited the bathroom in a towel within ten minutes.
"Is that my towel?" I asked.
"Mhmm." She smiled seductively and watched triumphantly as I swallowed with much difficulty.
I just died and went to heaven.
"So... You should put some clothes on." I suggested, eyeing her hungrily.
She giggled lightly, found some clothes and slipped them on in the bathroom.
"Where's the laundry basket?" She inquired after immerging from the washroom once more.
"In the corner by the lamp." I instructed.
I turned my attention back to my phone as she went to dispose of my towel.
"What the hell?!" She exclaimed bewildered as she pulled out a silver item.
"Don't touch that!" I warned hastily.
"Oh my god it's a gun." She said to herself, completely horrified.
"What are you doing with a gun Jale?" She queried in a terrified voice.
Shw brought a hand to her lips and I watched nervously as her shoulders shook while she wept.
"Megan, say something please?" I begged, my voice strained.
"Why the hell do you have a freaking gun Jale?! Are you crazy?!" She screamed, her voice hoarse.
"You- you're not in d-danger, are you?" She whispered, looking scared, fragile and worried.
I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out.
I don't want to lie.
But I don't want to tell her the truth.
Her eyes hardened and her jaw clenched. "Who is after you Jale?" She asked authoritatively.
"I- nobody."
"Jale, I can handle this."
"No. You can't."
"What the hell does that mean!?" She yelled angrily. "Wait, you know what? Screw this. And screw you Jale."
She turned on her heels and stormed out.
And I made no move to go after her.
Megan's POV
I'm not scared. I'm pissed.
Why is he treating me like a little girl?
Because that's what he sees.
Because that's what I show him.
"UGH!" I screamed frustratedly.
I was walking outside even though I was exhausted.
I don't want to be undercover anymore.
I don't want to be incognito anymore.
I smiled to myself. Time to do what Megan does best.
Be myself.

Jale's POV
I screwed up royally this time.
I should've hidden the gun better.
I've probably scared her off.
But she totally overreacted, right? I mean, it's just a handgun...
Okay yeah maybe she was right to be scared but I'm not scary.
I don't want to be scary.
I don't want Megan to be scared of me, I thought sadly.
But this is who I am, who I have to be.
A girl like Megan could never love me, the way I lo-
Do I love her?
She caught my eye since the day we met.
When she ignored me, I was annoyed.
When we didn't hit it off immediately, I got scared.
When another guy paid her attention, I got jealous.
When she kisses me, I feel alive.
When she's mad at me, I feel guilty.
When she's not with me, I'm saddened.
So do I love her?
Ring!
Ring!
"Hello?" I asked through the reciever.
"Hey boo it's Megan."
"Megan? Listen, babe I didn't mean-
"Shut up Jale."
"Wha- what?"
She sighed. "I'm sorry I walked out and I'm sorry for lying."
"Lying? When?"
"All the time." She said casually. "I'll help you." She promised.
"Help me with what? Megan what's going on?"
"I'm not sure yet."
The line went dead.
What the-
Ring!
Ring!
"Hello?"
"Dude there's a riot at the meeting place, you gotta get here fast." Evan said urgently.
"I'm only a few minutes away."
************
Our spokesperson stood tall and proud in front of us.
"Today, we have to divide ourselves into groups and send our threat to Chris, The Shadows' leader."
"We've been over this, get on with it!" Someone yelled in the crowd.
"Watch it boy." Mike snapped.
I rolled my eyes. Typical Mike.
Suddenly, whispers strung amongst the crowd.
"The Fox!"
"He's here!"
"Can you see his face?"
"What the heck is he wearing?"
"Is that a cape?"
"The Fox is here for real?"
We all watched in silence as the Fox made his way to the middle of the room.
"Show your face!" Someone cried.
Slowly, his gloved hands gripped the hem of the hood and gradually pushed it back, revealing luscious brown hair.
I stared mouth agape at the person that stood in front of me in all her glory.
"Personally, I prefer Foxy, but the Fox will do." She winked, earning some wolf wistles.
Holy crapamole.
It's Megan.
