CHAPTER 7 - Part 2
Jale's POV
"You never did tell me where we were going?"
"It's going to be great." Megan said excitedly, jumping up and down.
"Where are we?"
"I don't know. But the owner is called Gus."
Next to us, a couple was walking in, I could hear the boy calling it 'The great and mighty Gus'.
That couple is cute.
I want a relationship like that.
"So yeah, let's go! I already bought the tickets."
"Geez woman, I'm coming, I'm coming! You're worse than Evan." I mumbled.
"I am not!"
"Yes you are."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No- you know what forget it." She huffed. "Ooh! Come it's our turn." She said giddily.
Someone's happy.
We entered this room and a worker came to help us 'suit up'.
"We're paintballing?" I asked dumbfounded.
"No we're catching elephants." She deadpanned. "Of course we're paintballing." She smiled. "And I'm really good at it." She beamed.
"She sure is." The male worker complimented, getting too close to her.
I swallowed hard in attempt to calm myself down.
He was putting her vest on and practically pressed himself against her to fasten the clip in the back.
"Hey, yo man' it's cool, I got it." I said stiffly.
"It's alright, I got it." He replied.
I bit my tongue from replying.
"You know, Megan is a regular here." He said.
Is this guy still talking?
Why?
"And boy, she is amazing at it. I always try to beat her but she still wins every time." He sighed.
"Every time?" I asked. "And how many exactly, is every time?"
"Oh I'd say about, five times every day she's here. Or as long as we can."
"It's really a shame then." I said in mock sadness.
"What's a shame?" He asked.
"That she moved into my place."
"What!?" Megan and paintball dude asked simultaneously.
"Yeah, I live far from here, today's her last match here ever."
I could tell Megan wanted to say something, but she knew now wasn't the best moment to interfere.
"Oh, that's so sad. I hope you'll visit me though, right Meg?"
Meg? What the f*ck is that? Meg.
Stupid paintball guy, can't even find a decent nickname. I snorted silently to myself.
"Oh yes, don't worry Peter."
Peter? What, like Peter Pan?
"Well, if it's your last day, will you let me join you?"
I was about to say hell no, but Megan beat me to it.
"It'd be wonderful."
"But Megan, this is our date." I looked to her.
She placed a hand on my chest and I stiffened.
Because if I breathe, I might ruin it or something.
"But Jale baby, you'll have plenty of time with me when I move in, right? So what's a couple of minutes?" She said sassily, putting a hand on her hips.
My lips formed a straight line at the thought of a three person date, if you can still call it a date.
One thing I knew was that there's always a third wheel.
And I will not be the third wheel.
We were all running around individualy.
I spotted Megan and shot her with my paintball gun. Her eyes zeroed on me as she ducked behind a stack of tires.
Then, three paintballs hit me square in the back.
That son of a b*tch...
I whirled around and shot Peter several times then I ran for cover.
I was shot again, only this time by Megan.
This girl had good aim. How could she be able to shoot me so well from so far?
That's kind of hot.
Distracted by my slightly inappropriate thoughts, I didn't realise Peter sneak up behind me. He almost shot me but I ducked away just in time and ran to another corner.
While running, I spotted Megan, she was standing in front of a short wall.
I smirked.
"I got you cornered babe." I winked.
"Check again." She smirked as she did a backflip and landed gracefully behind the wall. She ducked and shot me right where my heart is supposed to be.
What the actual f*ck.
I blinked in complete and utter surprise.
Wow.
Distracted once again by Megan's undeniable attractiveness, Peter shot me a few times.
"Oh for crying out loud. You bas.tard. Go back to f*cking Neverland." I muttered.
I ducked, chased, shot and raced to beat Peter.
I will prove to Megan that I'm way better than he could ever be.
By the end both him and I were panting and Megan was... laughing at me?
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"Look what I did to your vest." She giggled.
I looked down and what I saw surprised me.
She had managed to create the outline of a heart with paintballs in the same area where my heart should be.
"H-how did you do that?" I asked bewildered.
Geez this woman has good aim.
"It's a secret." She said playfully.
I shook my head disbelievingly and turned to Peter.
"I love this girl." I said smiling.
The way I said it was playful and joking but the glare I was giving Peter was very, very serious.
"C'mon babe, let's go eat out." I winked.
"But I thought you were busy. Won't you get in trouble?"
"Any trouble is worth it for you." I said and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek.
Her cheeks turned pink and she beamed at me in a way that made my heart flutter.
And Evan said I couldn't be romantic.
