The following day, Rai was finishing her teleportation practice with Roxanne in the middle of the day. "You learn fast," Roxanne told her while Rai was teleporting around her repeatedly.

"It's not so hard," Rai said stopping in front of her. "It feels a little bit like..." She tapped her finger to her chin as she thought. "Taking a step, only you don't land in front of yourself. You land where you imagine you'll land."

"Rai," Lestat called her as he came to where they were on the upper deck. "I made bacon sandwiches. You done?"

Roxanne shrugged and waved her off. Rai teleported to her cousin's side. "I think I got this down."

"Good," Lestat said, "Ken says were only a few hours from Anasese."

"Ooh, I better go eat then before I don't get to." She ran down the stairs to the main deck and told Lestat, "I'll be right there. It's time for Jericho to eat again." Jericho was sleeping on one of the steps of the stairs. "Jericho, food." At the word, the dog jumped up and followed her down into the hold.

Rai went into her cabin and walked up beside her bed. There was a nightstand by it with a bag of dog food resting against it. She served Jericho in a cheap little plastic bowl against the wall that was beside by the bag. She closed the bag back up then turned to leave.

On her way out, Rai noticed a little box on her bed, which she picked up and opened without a second thought. There was a delicate silver necklace inside with five clear droplet shaped beads hanging off it. She dropped it into her hand to examine it. "Aw, that's cute."

She went out into the kitchen where Sahalli, Laura and Max were already eating. "Hey, whose is this?" She held it up for them to see. Laura had food in her mouth so she just shrugged and shook her head.

"Oh, I want it!" Sahalli announced, holding up her hand for it.

"I'm not giving it to you if it's not yours and I don't suppose it's yours either," she said to Max. He shrugged and Rai studied it in her hand with a slightly furrowed brow.

"Let me see." Sahalli got up from her chair but Rai pulled it away closing her hand into a fist on it. "Aw, come on."

"Nah, I know what this is," her voice was suddenly angry. She went back to the cabin and dropped the necklace back in its box, leaving it on her bed. The kids watched her leave the hold in a hurry with her hands clenched.

"Whoa," Max winced, "somebody's going to get killed."

Rai walked out of the hold and straight to Reno's space. He was sitting on his nightstand, reading a book. "Hey," she called him loudly enough to startle him. He jumped to his feet and did not have a chance to respond before Rai grabbed his wrist and starting pulling him back to the hold.

"Oh, okay." He let the book he had been reading fall now that something much more interesting was happening. She led him into her cabin and slammed the door shut behind him. "What? Your fingers aren't doing it for you anymore?" he teased her with a devious smirk. "Alright. What do want me to do for you?"

Rai snatched the box off the bed and held it up to his face. "What is this?"

"A box."

"They gave you this box when you bought something from that crystal apothecary."

"And?"

"Why is it in my room?"

Reno chuckled softly, "I'd rather talk about why I'm in your room."

"You're here to explain this."

"Maybe I wanted you to bring me here. Maybe it was a trap. Did you think about that?" Rai was about to respond and stopped herself as she thought. Reno reached over and turned the lock on the door. "And now you're stuck in here with me."
