You Are My Sunshine // Daniel Seavey // #wattys2018

~Part Twenty-Six~

   After going on a short extension of the tour around the U.S, Daniel and Luna found themselves at home. Well, Daniel's home to be more specific. They were cuddled up by a fire with his family. You two had been sharing stories about tour and what it was like traveling around the world. They would also share stories about life back in Portland and what they were all up to. It was nice for the two to finally relax.
   "Wait I have to ask, what is the funniest thing that happened on tour?" Anna had asked with a bright smile. The couple looked at each other and thought for a second. "I feel like there was just so many things that happened that I can't pinpoint one like, really funny story." Luna laughed lightly. "Oh but what about that one interview? Where Zach did the thing? I don't remember that well but I do remember everyone in the room dying of laughter." Daniel laughed. Luna shrugged her shoulders while looking up at him. They were sitting on an outdoor couch with Luna sitting right beside him with her legs strewn over his thighs and her back against the arm of the couch. He had his arm right underneath a small spot under her lower back and had been dancing his fingers against the now tanned bare skin.
    Everyone had been talking and laughing for a couple more minutes when Daniel felt a vibration coming from his pocket. He assumed it was from his phone but he quickly found out it was Luna's. She had asked him to hold onto it because she doesn't like anything to be in her hoodie pockets and the cotton shorts she was wearing didn't have any pockets. When he glanced at the screen he quickly handed the phone to Luna and leaned his lips towards her ear. "He's reaching out. Please just call him, only if you want." He then pressed his lips to her ear and pulled away. When Luna looked down at her phone, her heart dropped through her stomach.

I know you're with Daniel right now, but please call me soon:)

   She simply locked her phone and gave it back to Daniel who put it back in his pocket. They spent the rest of the night outside having fun and relaxing.
   "You know, you can't avoid him forever, he is your Dad." Daniel said taking off his shirt and throwing it into the hamper. Luna, who had been in the bathroom, walked through the door and to her bag she had yet to unpack. She was going to change into a different one of her shirts but decided on one of Daniels old ones that was in his room. "I know. I just don't think I'm ready yet. I will eventually though. I promise." She walked over and wrapped her arms around his waist and put her chin on his chest so she could look up at him. He put his hand on her jaw. "I love you, bubba." She said with pouty lips. Daniel smiled and leaned down to kiss her. "I love you too, bubs." He said while still kissing her.
    When they pulled away they walked over to the bed to go to sleep. After a couple minutes of them cuddling and scrolling through their phones, Luna made an on the spot decision. "I'll be right back, bubba, I'm gonna go get a water bottle from downstairs." She pressed a quick kiss to his forehead before she left. When she was down the stairs, She pulled up her contact list. Without a second thought she pressed her Dads contact and pressed call. While the phone was ringing she couldn't help but to start tearing up. So when she heard the familiar gravely voice through the phone speak, she swallowed the lump in her throat and spoke.
   "Luna?"

   "Hi, Daddy."
