Randy, Kyle and Mason were three best friends, they were seventeen, went to highschool together and were avid pranksters.

Early in the morning Mason pried open the classroom window and the three snuck into homeroom.

'Okay. Do you have the ingredients?' Kyle asked.
'Right here.' Mason said patting a large bag proudly.
'This will be the best stink bomb of all time' Kyle (the leader) stated.

'We have liquid skunk spray, rotten anchovies, garbage from Mr. Stenson's house, mold bacteria, and what else...? Oh yeah! Four days worth of sweat.'
With the tools from the back closet they rigged up the bag to explode within five hours.
The problem was, they didn't realize that Mr. Stenson was a Nuclear Scientist and within his garbage was bio-hazardous material, or to explain simply Nuclear Waste.

The three students called in sick that day, they stayed home and played videogames though being the idiots that they were they didn't realize it would be obvious who the guilty party was.

-One hour left
-Twenty-five minutes left
-Five minutes left

After five minutes the bag exploded and the stink went through the entire classroom, out the doors and windows within seconds engulfing the whole school.

The students could barely breathe and felt like they were going to pass out. One student noticed that her clothes getting looser. Her desk looked larger, she had trouble seeing over it and fell over off her chair onto her floor. She was covered in her shirt, and her shoes, pants and bracelets have since fallen off.
Within fifteen seconds she looked exactly like a skunk.

People throughout the building were shrinking, shoes and pants were scattered everywhere but soon the stink wafted out of the building to the outside.

'Is everyone okay?' Asked the teacher once the fog had cleared. He wasn't sure exactly what happened.
He tried standing up but could not walk on two legs. They could still talk though.
The students were screaming in terror all over.
'Calm down everyone! calm down!' The teacher demanded. Everyone was in such a panic that no-one was listening.
The teacher yelled over the din, 'Whatever was set off turned us into this but I am sure the government can reverse.'

A more paranoid student who had heard him was choking in fear. 'They'll dissect us!! See how we can talk!'
Everyone was panicking now. But the teacher knew the government would help them somehow.

In a nearby park, a four year old girl was playing on a swing. She noticed a green mist coming towards her, multiplying and quickly spreading in all directions.
She held her nose, she started shrinking as well, falling off of the swing and onto the ground. Her parents were shrinking and growing fur also.
The girl's father panicked. 'What the hell happened to us!?'
His wife who was also terrified had no answer. 'We have to get Katie home and watch the news!'
Her husband reached into his large pockets and grabbed his keys, he unlocked the electronic door but the handle was far too high for him to reach.
'I would never be able to drive that anyway. We'll have to find another way home.'

It was spreading all over the city.
Seeping into house windows, hospital windows, even cars which everyone as soon as the gas entered immediately stopped as to not get into accidents. Hopefully there were no acccidents, though in real life it would be doubtful.

It wafted in the three friend's house.
'Dude, that stinks!' Kyle groaned.
'I know, it smells like ours would have...' said Mason, and they all froze. Something went wrong. They all knew that their bomb would have gone off minutes ago. This had to have been connected.
Within seconds they were skunks.

'Dude! What happen to us!?? I didn't do this!' Randy whined. The skunks climbed out of their clothing and looked at the much larger world.
'I don't think it's just us' Mason sobbed, 'The whole city must be like this.'
This was Mason's house and his mom was sleeping downstairs. They instantly heard a scream as the sensation of her clothes enveloping her caused to wake in shock.

It spread all over Ontario, multiplying faster and faster each second. Within minutes it covered all of Canada. Then all of North America, Mexico, South America and was already spreading overseas.

China, Japan, England, Germany, Norway, Africa. They were all becoming infected.

Within ten minutes every human in the world had transformed.

The three friends were watching the news on television.
A female reporter, who used to wear a professional looking suit and large earrings, she was now standing on top of her clothes as her earrings were practically dragging along the floor. She tried to stand on two legs but couldn't, she spoke into her headset which had fallen off lying beside her. She said in as reassuring as a voice as she could.
'We know you are scared but please stay in your homes until we can get this sorted out. And do not panic. The government is looking into this at this moment. We'll be cured before you know it don't worry.'

It was one of the scariest things that ever happened in history.

And four years later... scientists were never able to reverse it but people adjusted, adapted, cars were now remade much smaller and designed for one with four legs to drive, buildings were all rebuilt from the ground up to be smaller. Everything in fact was made smaller. Televisions, computers, couches, cellphones, videogame systems, countertops, staircases. The entire world was now skunk sized. And people despite initally hating it had to learn to live with it and newer generations wouldn't even care because they were never human to begin with thus no reason to complain.

After those four years... Kyle stated to Randy and Mason. 'I'm sorry I thought up that plan, we single-handedly destroyed humanity and for what?'
The other two just snarled at him. He got them into this and their entire family names are shamed forever.
Kyle tried to look on the bright side. 'At least I'm learning a lesson.'

Which he had an entire life sentence to learn.
