Hmm," Jessica wondered to herself, "The road, or the trail? The road's longer, but the trail can be a bit rough..." She stood, staring in the two directions for a few minutes, before finally deciding to take the trail, leading through a forest and right into her backyard.
Jessica was a very pretty eighteen year old girl. She was 5-7, had a very cute face with emerald green eyes, and long, black hair. She was on her high schools cross country team. The sun was setting as she was on her way home from a long practice.
"Man, I wish I had a car," she said to herself as she started into the woods, "Then I'd be home in a few minutes, and I wouldn't need to walk when I feel like my legs are dead..."
She began trudging through the woods, noticing that it was quickly becoming dark, and she didn't have a light.
"Ugh," She moaned, "Maybe I should have taken the road. I can't see anythi-" Suddenly, her foot caught on a root, tripping her, and causing her to land face-first in a puddle of mud. As she lifted up her head, she said to herself, "Come on, could this get any worse?"
As she looked up, she quickly realized that the answer to her question was 'yes'.
Staring at her, from about a foot away, was a small skunk.
"Uhh, nice skunk," she said as she slowly lifted herself up, "Don't worry about me. I was just leaving." She began backing away, but the skunk just tilted his head to the side, and began to walk after Jessica at the same pace.
"No, you stay there," She said. "What am I doing, talking to a skunk, when I could just run?"
But sure enough, when she turned around to run, the skunk also turned around, only rather than running, he lifted up his tail and sprayed right at her back.
"Ew, gross," Jessica shouted. She turned around to face the skunk and sniffed herself, "I smell like, well, like a skunk. What's the big idea, skunk? I wasn't bothering you at all, so why'd so spray me? And why is your tail still- AAAH!"
The skunk sprayed her again, this time right in her face.
"Great now I really smell," she thought to herself, trying to hold her breath. However, she couldn't hold it forever, and when she began to feel lightheaded, let out a big sigh. "Wait a second," she said, now feeling a bit dizzy, "I don't smell that bad at all. What the hell is going on? I-I need to sit down," she said as she sat on the ground and passed out.
When she woke up, she sat herself up and brought a hand to her forehead. "Aw, man. What happened," She asked, seeing the skunk sniffing her leg, "Oh right, YOU happened."
Sensing hostility in her voice, the skunk began to turn his ail to her again.
"No! Wait! Don't shoot!" Jessica shouted. Suddenly, the skunk stopped, put his tail down, and turned back around to face Jess. "Wait," Jess said, surprised by the skunk's change of heart, "Can you understand me?"
The skunk nodded.
"So, if you know what I'm saying," She began, "Why did you spray me? Twice."
The skunk grabbed her pant leg in his teeth and began pulling on it. Not getting the response he wanted, he moved to her lap, jumped on her stomach, and began pulling on her shirt.
"Hey! Watch it! What are you trying to-," She was cut off by a ripping sound as the skunk ripped her shirt down the middle. "Great, just great. How am I going to explain this to my parents? My parents! They must be worried sick about me. I don't even know how long I've been out here."
She quickly got up to her feet, causing the skunk to fall off of her lap and land on the ground with a thud. He quickly got back to his feet and once again started pulling on her pants.
"I don't know what you want, mister skunk," she said, "But I need to get home." The skunk let go of her pants for a moment, sniffed her leg once again and then bit her. "Hey! What was that for?!" She shouted. "What do you have against me?" He pulled on her leg yet again, backing up slowly with the fabric in his mouth towards a small puddle. "Do you want me to follow you," She asked, "Is that it? Okay, fine, I'll come along with you."
Once he heard her say this, he let go of her pants and walked over to the puddle. He started lapping up water from it.
"This is what you wanted to show me," she asked, a tone of aggravation in her voice, "You wanted to show me a stupid puddle? Or are you proud of being able to drink from it? Ugh, I can't believe I thought any more could expect more from a stupid, stinking skunk."
She walked over towards the puddle, when she came to a realization. "Hey wait, why don't you smell bad anymore?"
As she looked down to ask the skunk, she caught her reflection in the water, and what she saw shocked her.
"My nose! My face! What happened?!" She screamed. Her nose had turned black and wet near her nostrils, while a white stripe ran from the wet area up to the bridge of her nose. The rest of her face had turned as black as her hair.
"This-this can't be real. That-that's, is that, me?" Out of pure shock at the face looking back at her, with her features, but still so very strange, she once again feinted.
************
"Man, what a weird dream," Jessica said as she picked herself up, "I must have hit my head when I tripped on that root." As she stood up, she saw the skunk again only about three feet away from her. "Wait a second," she said with a startled tone, "If you're that skunk, and I'm still in the woods, then-," She ran over to the puddle and let out a gasp.
Staring back at her was a creature he barely recognized as herself. Its face was covered in short, black hairs, except for a stripe of white hairs coming down from its forehead, down the middle of its face, ending at a small black nose, which was sticking out about an inch longer than hers normally would. The protrusion of the nose seemed to be causing the creature's mouth to also begin sticking out. The reflected creature had pointed ears on the top of its head, both coated in the same black fur as its face, and had a white stripe in its hair, which seemed to be shorter than Jessica remembered hers being, which met with the stripe on its face.
The only recognizable feature Jessica could spot was the eyes, emerald green in color, and even they seemed different, further apart than before.
"This isn't right," She said, backing away from the puddle, "This isn't me. I'm not some freak."
She continued backing up until her foot hit something, the skunk.
"You," she shouted, "You did this, you little bastaaaa-OW," Suddenly, a sharp pain erupted from just above her butt. She quickly spun around to see what had caused it, and was terrified when she discovered it. Out of her back, just above her butt, a large bushy tail was emerging. It had ripped right through her pants, creating a tear running about five inches down in them, and causing them to fall down around her ankles. The tail quickly grew, becoming almost as long as her torso within a matter of seconds. It was covered in fluffy black fur, with the same white stripe as was on Jess's face and head.
"This can't be happening! It just can't," Jess began to weep hysterically as her tail flipped back and forth. Jess's hand and feet suddenly began to feel strange. "What now, paws," she said, removing her shoes quickly to see what was going on. Indeed, her feet and hands were becoming paws. The bones in her feet shifted, causing only her toes to remain flat on the ground, while the rest angled upwards. Her two middle toes merged together, and all four grew small pads on the bottom, while her nails became pointed and sharp claws. Her hands underwent similar changes, her fingers shrank, becoming about the same length as her toes. Her thumbs melded into her palms, leaving her with four stubby fingers, which also became padded, while her fingernails became her new claws.
Suddenly, she began feeling warm, with a tingling sensation all over her body. Short black hairs began growing all over her body, and quickly covered her arms, legs, and chest, while her back become cover in black except for two stripes running down it from the top of her head to the start of her tail. The hair on her head was now too short to be distinguishable from the rest of her fur.
Now a strange feeling erupted from her chest. She looked down to see that her breasts had become smaller. But she was also shocked to see that she was growing two more sets!
"I know I'm going to regret saying this, but can this get any worse? I look like some kind of giant skunk girl," She muttered to herself. "There's no way I can let anyone see me like this. They'd put me in a zoo, or dissect me, or something."
But as she was busy thinking of some way of returning to normalcy, the bones in her legs shifted, causing her to lose her balance as she quickly fell to all fours. Once her hands- her front paws- hit the ground, her spine shifted to adjust her weight, and she found that she couldn't get off of all fours for more than a brief moment without losing balance and falling forwards again. She tried to yell for help, hoping that someone would for some reason be out in the woods in the middle of the night, but all that came out was a bird-like chirp sound.
"I can't talk," She thought to herself, "But that must mean, something's happened to my mouth!"
She ran over to the puddle as quickly as she could, she wasn't used to walking on four legs, and her movement was much less than graceful, but she finally made it, looked at her reflection yet again, and couldn't believe it. Her nose and mouth were now sticking out several inches in front of her face, forming a muzzle. When she opened her mouth, she was greeted by several sharp teeth. Finally she saw her eyes. What had once been beautifully green eyes were now simple black circles, pushed to the sides of her head by her muzzle. A tear fell into the reflection, warping it. She turned away before it could return. She couldn't stand to see herself like this.
Then, all of the sudden, the world started spinning. Jess would have definitely lost her balance and fallen over were she not already on all fours. She closed her eyes, hoping it would stop, but it lasted for several minutes before she felt normal again. She opened her eyes, and saw that the trees had become much taller. Then she saw her ripped clothes. She walked over to them, having gotten the hang of all fours during the mysterious dizzying occurance.
Her clothes were huge compared to her!
"The trees haven't grown, I've shrunk!" She realized. "I couldn't be much bigger than the skunk from before. Speaking of which, where is that little runt? Or, I guess just runt now. Anyway, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind, and maybe some of my claw while I'm at it."
She looked all around, but saw no sign of him.
"Hmm, I wonder..." She began to sniff at the ground, her nose almost right in the dirt, until her ears and tail perked slightly. "Gotcha. I'll show you not to go around changing people into skunks," she thought to herself as she ran deeper into the forest.
"Although, I do have to say it's not too bad now that I've got the hang of it..."
