It was a splendid summer day. Clear sky, soft breeze and a soothing calm sea. It was the perfect day to relax beach side.
In the parking lot next to the beach, a pair of shimmering sparkles appeared in midair. A pair of tiny bodies materialized out of the light, one carrying a bulging white sock over her shoulder. The other one pointing towards the direction of the sea.
"Sweet! We finally made it to the beach!" The redhead shouted, raising her arms in victory.
"Ugh, I think I'm going to puke..." her partner, a blue haired fairy stated with a sickened face.
"Oh just relax, Trixie! Teleport spells can sometimes make you feel dizzy." Melanie responded.
"Yes, Mel, but you didn't tell me we had to teleport like 20 times!" Trixie replied with frustration in her tiny voice.
"Would you have preferred to fly all the way here, carrying all that stuff?" Melanie pointed at the full ankle sock that Trixie was supporting on her back. "Stop whining, you remember what Rachael said."
"...I wish you'd leave me alone until I finish my work." Trixie parroted, rolling her eyes. "You win. Let's go, Mel."
The fairy pair headed towards the beach, buzzing through the gentle sea breeze. As they passed a woman walking with her son in tow, the boy exclaimed, "Look mommy, that sock is floating!"
"It's just the wind. Hurry up!" The mother chastised the boy, pulling him along.
On the beach, the sock landed in the soft sand. It opened up, revealing some cocktail umbrellas that appeared to set themselves up. Small kitchen towels and makeshift chairs of popsicle sticks and sponges floated through the air, before arranging themselves under the shade of the umbrellas. Unseen to human eyes, the two fairies were making themselves comfortable. Melanie peeled off her shirt, revealing a tiny green bikini she had fashioned out of some leaves.
"Hmm... Trixie? Did you bring a bathing suit..." Melanie looked over the fairy godmother's one piece leotard. "...never mind."
The pixie girls had everything arranged how they wished, so they sat down to relax. It wasn't very long until a beach ball crashed into the tiny setup, crushing everything. Some children chased after the inflated toy, laughing and playing.
Tiny arms snaked out from under the smashed cocktail umbrella, pushing it off of the flattened girls. Trixie stood up and pulled Melanie to her feet. Huffing to themselves, they tried to repair their beach furniture and regain their composure.
Unfortunately, a young boy plopped himself down beside them, and pulled out a heavy bucket. The two fae looked at each other with sad expressions before they were buried under a torrent of beach sand. Further down the beach, the pair blinked into existence with most of their tiny furniture. Melanie's hands had the remnants of teleportation sparkles surrounding them.
"Hey! Can't a pixie get some consideration here!?!" Melanie shouted at the boy who could not hear or see them, while Trixie coughed up the sand in her mouth.
Both of the little fairies went about setting up their beach side spot once more, attempting to make the most of the nice weather. However, a large shadow soon loomed over them blocking out the sun. Trixie looked up just in time to see a large blue container coming down on them. A family had set their polystyrene icebox right on their campsite, crushing them into the ground. A fiery bolt of orange and yellow shot out from the box, bursting into the sky above. From within, wrapped in flames, Melanie was holding Trixie's hand.
"Grrrr..." fire danced over the redhead's fingertips as she focused on the family below.
"Hey! Calm down, it's not their fault! They can't see or hear us, remember?" Trixie tugged on Mel's arm. "Let's just go back home... all our things are broken or soaked by now."
Melanie snorted and her flames disappeared, while the family below curiously searched their icebox for any misplaced firecrackers. Defeated, the pair started to fly back towards town, but a gleam emerged in Mel's eye and she turned to the fairy godmother. "...I have an idea."
Melanie explained her plan to a doubtful Trixie, excitedly waving her arms and buzzing around her friend. Trixie had an unsure look across her face. She finally responded, "I don't know... that seems like a bit much."
"Relax, Trix! They'll all run away and leave the beach clear for us." The redhead responded. "...it's either that, or you refuse to obey Rachel's wiiii~ish." She said in a sing song voice.
Trixie sighed. She headed back towards the family and raised her magic wand. A small black shape appeared in front of the humans, who were slow to take notice. Suddenly, the daughter of the family stood up and shrieked. "IT'S THE SKUNK! The mad Skunk came back!"
The father pulled off his sunglasses and scrambled to his feet, picking up his daughter and son. The mother grabbed their belongings and the family ran back towards the parking lot. "RUN! The Skunk is back!" they shouted as they evacuated.
Pandemonium ensued. People ran screaming, some taking their belongings with them. Some left everything on the beach in the rush. A few stumbled in the soft sand before picking themselves back up towards the town. In less than a minute, the entire beach was deserted.
"HAHAHAhaha~ What a bunch of slowbrains!" Melanie burst out in laughter. "They were so scared, they didn't even realize it was a toy skunk!"
"Toy? No, Mel you're wrong. I spawned a copy of the closest living skunk in this area. It's alive. I'm positive." Trixie interrupted her amused partner.
"Come on, Trix! When have you ever seen a living skunk that was made of rubber? Look it doesn't even have any fur. It's just a shiny black bathtub toy." Melanie replies circling over the strange animal. "...though I must agree that it moves pretty realistically for a toy."
"Hmm... it's strange." Trixie stated, coming closer to the animal. She poked it inquisitively. "It feels like a balloon, but it moves like it's alive."
The latex animal complained with a squeaky huff while the two fairies prodded him. It jumped back and spun around to wield it's tail at them. The winged duo gasped at the threatening gesture.
Mel buzzed upwards into the air while Trixie froze in confusion. The skunk tensed up and sprayed a hot mist of inky black all over the little fairy godmother. "Eeeeeeek!" Trixie screamed as she was soaked in droplets of liquid latex. Melanie dropped back down next to her friend as she inspected the outcome. The droplets were growing and merging into a skin that was trapping Trixie.
"Hey! What did you do to Trix!?" Melanie demanded from the strange creature.
Melanie started to gesture a spell, but was interrupted by a tickling sensation on her feet. She looked down to find that her feet were now coated in socks made of the same black rubber. They were spreading up her legs, threatening to cover her in the same fashion as her friend. Her sandaled feet were blowing up into large paws already.
"What kind of magic is this?!" Melanie exclaimed as she pulled and ripped the rubber skin away from her now covered thighs.
While she was distracted, the latex skunk blasted her with it's inky spray. The redhead was covered from head to toe in slick blackness that solidified into a tight skin, trapping her inside. Beside her, Trixie was already transformed in a tiny replica of the skunk, complete with puffy paws, a little snout and a thick shiny tail. Only her eyes and her wings were free from the oily prison. She tried to pull the snout away from her face with her cartoonish paws but couldn't get a grip on it at all.
In just a few seconds, Melanie had also succumbed to the same fate. Trixie desperately pawed at a stunned Mel, grabbing her arm with both paws and pulled her into the air. The two rubber skunk fairies retreated back towards the city.
Back on the beach, the black rubber skunk was now free from the pestering fairies. It looked around for new victims, but only found an empty seaside. It stretched in the sunlight and trotted down the shore line, hoping to find a more populated area. It was still searching for more victims even as the sun sunk down into the ocean.
