You woke up to stiff joints, warmth, and darkness. Mildly alarmed and confused you tensed before you remembered where you were. Owen had clearly gotten out of bed, and currently it smelled as though he had made food. Shifting under the comforting weight of the blankets lethargically, although feeling a renewed surge of energy flow through you as you yawned and stretched. Your feeling of contentment however was cut off by the heavy weight of remembering what Owen had done last night. You could feel yourself blushing, and you tried to insist that his actions had just been of friendly intentions, and that you had been the one to make it weird.

You stood up feeling droopy with the guilt that hung low in your stomach you slid out of the covers and into the frigid air, grabbing a flashlight and creeping down the stairs. Owen winced as you shone the light in his eyes teasingly, but gave a grin. "Morning sleeping beauty! I'm just finishing up lunch! Soup." He said going back to stirring a pot. "Lunch?" You questioned furrowing your brow slightly. had you really slept for that long? "Yep. You were asleep for a while and I wanted to let you re-charge. Feeling better?" He guessed what you were thinking casually and you gave a nod, looking into the cupboards around you to see where some bowls were kept.

"I keep them up here!" Owen was behind you and reached above you brushing up against your body, making you stiffen as you became painfully aware of his close proximity, and the appealing scent of his cologne. Luckily the taller man seemed to take no notice, and passed them to you before dishing out the soup. He gave a quick glance at the table that was piled with boxes, shrugged, and promptly sat cross legged on the floor, already spooning soup into his mouth earning a giggle from you as you joined him. The darkness, and the chill of the air was contrasted by the warmth of the meal as you savored it to the best of your ability.

The two of you ate in comfortable silence, occasionally making a slurping noise and triggering the other into a fit of chuckles, until your bowls were finally empty and your stomachs full. You went to wash the dishes, but Owen stopped you "Save it 'till we have dishes from dinner too." He smiled, before turning to the cupboard just above the sofa. "Okay, we have no electricity, so no TV, but believe it or not I am not illiterate, and I have a collection of books! The only catch is that they are digital. On my E-Reader." He gave an apologetic wince and you just nodded not seeing a problem.

"We'll have to share." He said grabbing the small tablet out of the cupboard, and gesturing for you to follow him. "We're going to get cold, so lets go read where we have blankets, and one of us can read over the other's shoulder." He said calmly, but your heart caught in your throat. You internally panicked trying to re-assure yourself that it wasn't going to be awkward, and decided that it did sound quite nice to read. As he crawled under the covers and lifted them up for you, however you had your doubts. You sat beside him in a rigid way, and as he powered on the tablet, you tried to distract yourself by looking at the books he had.

Before you could however, he set it down lightly and looked over at you. You paused, confused for a moment before he gave a sigh and raised his eyebrows.

"You're scared of me."

"No I'm not!"

"Intimidated?"

"What?"

You were completely flustered now and speechless, but he seemed to gain amusement from your state. A grin crept over his face and his eyes darkened. You felt a hand brush up against your leg and you jolted away with a yelp. "SEE!?" He exclaimed never losing the cheeky look on his face. You sputtered like a fish out of water, trying to make an excuse and process what was going on. You were cut off by a distraction rather quickly however. He slowly made his way over to you and pressed his lips to yours. This was it. You were going to pass out, or just die from the sheer shock of the situation. What a way to go.

Instead however you surprised even yourself by kissing back. Yes you were still tense but that was slowly fading away. Owen gave a noise and shifted so that he was basically on top of you, as his hands traveled across your body. The warmth of his body so close to yours drove you wild and you felt as though your very being relied upon him kissing you, and touching you.

Lets just say that by the time the cool air hit your bare chest you were completely unaware of the chill, the pounding rain, or the roar of thunder outside.
