*WARNINGS*: Swearing?? IDK I use really terrible language I'm so sorry. This one isn't so bad...
The rain was deafening against the roof of the Jeep as you sped along down the dirt road muddied from long storm. The wind howled, the visibility was low, and you were hardly dressed appropriately, your jacket and work boots thrown on hastily, to cover up the silk nighty that you had been wearing when you heard the shouts over the radio that they were having difficulties down at the paddock. It didn't sound like it was a big deal or some 'Red Alert' emergency, but it had sounded like the storm was making operations more high maintenance and then a couple of the guys hadn't showed up due to the road conditions which was basically a call out for extra people that were off site on other activities. Technically it was your day off but you being you and feeling as responsible as you did for your paddock and girls you wanted to make sure that everything was going to run smoothly and safely.
You cursed quietly as you pulled up, the tires splashing up water, and the gravel crunching, but as you opened up the door to greet the harsh elements you almost regretted your decision to come out until you saw the people you work with hurrying around. The Raptors were panicking due to the high winds and the fact that they didn't have low ground get to as most animals try to seek out during these conditions. They were refusing to go into their holding bunker and were instead choosing to sprint around.
There were men everywhere "battening down the hatches" and trying desperately to keep the situation under control and to ensure that no more damage would come to their precious equipment, and as you begin marching over to where you knew Barry and Owen would be, you called a couple orders to the grateful looking guys. Squinting through the rain you spotted the tall figure of Barry trying to secure some rope. The scene reminded you of a harsh parody of the deck of a boat mid storm, only complimented by the barks of the Raptors that sent chills down your spine.
Barry turned his head as you approached and tried to see through the rain at you calling out your name curiously and clearly confused as to why you were here on your day off . " I heard the call over the radio, sounded like things were going to shit. I don't have much better to do!" You answered his question before he voiced it. He just Shrugged almost losing his grip on the Rope shouting a curse. "Where's Owen!?" doing your best to shout it over the rain as an alarm started sounding off for something at one of the guys was trying to fix.
Barry gave an exasperated gesture up towards the cat walk, while you spun on your heel and hurried towards the steps. Slipping your way up the metal stairs that were rickety (and twice as sketchy in the rain), you made out the tall broad shoulders and cool pacing of your best friend Owen. As you made your way over you could sense the mild panic in his posture and movements. The Raptors weren't listening to him, and he clearly clearly couldn't gain control. Your coat was doing you no good and entirely soaked including the silk nighty which clung to your skin and was no longer modest. You couldn't care less.
Once you came a couple feet near Owen he took notice of you but once he saw what you were wearing he looked you up and down, and gaped slightly flabbergasted. "What are you wearing!?" He shouted, "I came off duty! Whats going on? How can I help?" You cried back, the rain now accompanied with distant rumblings of thunder. "You can't wear that!" Owen shouted back his widened eyes never leaving your body, making you mildly uncomfortable. "The girls are freaked! Have you tried baiting them-"
Annoyance plucked at your chest when Owen interrupted clearly at a loss for words finally looking up at your eyes. "You cant wear that!" He repeated and you put your hands on your hips meeting his gaze not at all intimidated by his larger frame looming over you. "OWEN. You aren't seriously thinking of turning down help right now, are you????" You barked, and he opened his mouth to object, glancing down at the raptors, but shook his head and took a step closer so that the two of you wouldn't have to scream over the sound of the rain.
