"I swear to God that was nothing!" I kept telling Ashton. He'll just look at me and say "Okay?" It's like he doesn't even care, like something's going on. because most of the time he'll snap and scold the boys for hitting on me, like what happened when I met Michael.

"What was nothing?" asked Mom, who's currently setting up the table with me, while Ash is seated on the chair. I placed the big bowl that I am holding, on the center of the table, I sat next to him and he just gave me a nod.

What do I reply?

"Oh nothing Mom, Ashton just saw me wrapped around Calum's arms while on bed!" as simple as that, but of course I didn't say that. Instead the words that left my mouth was

"Uhh" I was left with nothing.  Mom looked at me with confused eyes.

I shrugged.

"I saw Anna swearing on Facebook" Ashton said. I sighed in relief. That's a great save, yet again.

"Oh" Mom says and she told me stuff like swearing isn't nice for girls. And I just sighed and nod in agreement. I'm thankful to Ash for not telling on me, that would have been a bad image. Seeing your daughter lying in bed next to a guy, quite an image. But nothing happened. Me and Cal are mates, just like what he said.

Dinner went quiet, as usual. Nobody talked much, just a few chats now and then. After dinner, I washed the dishes with Ashton, I'd scrub the plates, and he'll be the one to dry.

I heard him humming a song, an unknown song. Probably one of theirs. I give him the plate, and he wipes it with a clean cloth. Plate after plate, I was getting awkward, I did not speak a single word, but hearing Ash sing made it easy for me to let go of the loud silence.

"Ash"

"Yeah?"

"Me and Calum, we aren't. That's just.." But he cut me off by showing me his hand motioning for me to stop.

"Anna, when you say nothing happened, nothing happened. I trust you... I mean you're sixteen of course your teenage hormones couldn't handle a bit of boys. And besides, I trust Calum enough for me to know that he won't pull any moves on you" He explains.

That was unexpected.

I really thought he'd lash out on me or something. But the last part though, He trusts Calum to not make a move on me? Though he already did, He tried to kiss me earlier, or at least that's what I thought.

"Aww! Thanks Ash" I tell him, I should really be hugging him, but my hands are wet and full of soap.

"Just remember, I'm watching out for you. You may think I don't know. But I know" He smiles, and pats my head like I'm a little kid.

I felt my phone vibrated from the bed side table, and I know someone is calling. I scrunch my eyes to see who it was, it's quite blurry since I've been asleep for a good half hour. Without looking at the caller ID, I swiped my phone to answer.

"Hello?" I say as I let out a yawn, I gazed at the clock hanging on my wall and it read 11:11 pm.

"Anna" I heard from the other line, At first I didn't recognize who it belongs to, But when he spoke up again, I knew it was

Calum

"Calum, do you know what time it is?"

It took him a second before he answers "11:12 pm"

"Right"

"Did I wake you?" He asks.
