"Where have you been all day?" A worried expression covers my brother's face once I pushed the door open from the outside.
I showed him the shopping bags I have in my hand. "Shopping," I say.
I hope he doesn't notice the red mark on my right cheek. The pain is gone and I'm grateful.
"What happened to your face?" He asks. Oh, as if it was inevitable.
"What do you mean?" I play dumb. Which I think is quite effective.
"You look like a tomato," he laughs. Dammit. If he knew where this came from I don't know what he'll do. And he won't ever find out.
"Umm, blush?" I say, shit. I almost laugh at my attempt. One slap, instant blush.
"Mm'kay" he agrees and heads to the kitchen. I sigh and mentally pat myself on the back. Great job Anna!
I scurried upstairs and laid the shopping bags on my bed. I almost cringed when I see myself in the mirror, I really do have it bad. Damn Aila's hand.
I let myself be dragged by Aila, she's still holding my wrist. Very tightly too.
I hear the people behind us buzzing, everyone is on rage. And the last thing I want is a fight with Luke's girlfriend. Ex girlfriend.
"Where are we going?" I ask her, I don't expect for her to answer. And my expectations are met when she doesn't. Nice try Anna!
Now we're at the back of the mall, the parking lot to be exact. I stay quiet, I hear her breathing really hard. She must be tired. I am too. I grip the bags on my arms and wait for her to turn around to me.
"Aila," I call her. She turns around, her eyes are emotionless. I can't read her, I don't know what the she's thinking and it makes me worried. She steps closer towards me still looking. One, two, three seconds pass.
Her hand comes flying to my face and landing on my cheek. And I turn.
