I smile as he leaves and I go to my room and close the door.
What the fuck am I gonna do if Zack tells them tomorrow. That can't happen. I need to speak to Zack before any of them get to him first.
With that thought I fall on my bed and fall fast...
"I'm home!!!" I shout as I walk in and throw my bag on the living room couch.
"Mum!!!!" I say walking through to the kitchen.
I look outside and see my mum sitting in the garden. I slide the glass door to the garden, whilst grabbing a banana on the way, I start to peel and eat the banana as I kiss my mum on the cheek and sit beside her on the grass.
"Back already kiddo?" She smiles as she looks out on to the grass.
"Yeh." I reply.
"First day okay?" She asks as she scratches her thighs.
" It was okay.. it was a really long day tho, can't wait for the party tonight."
"I see." She laughs "The old back to school getting drunk out your face party."
" No" I laugh.
"Just be careful, and back before 11pm you know the drill." She smiles at me.
I nod in agreement.
"Has your dad called you?" She asks quietly.
"No, but we chatted last night before I went to bed." I say as I look around the garden.
My dad lived abroad in Scotland where he worked for a big whiskey firm. He and my mum had divorced 2 years earlier due to differences in where they wanted to live. Well that's what Ryan and I had been told. They were on good terms, Dad always came to see us when he had holidays and I had spent 4 weeks with him and Ryan in the summer. I loved Scotland and missed my dad badly, but I had a life here, two best friends and a boyfriend. I couldn't leave them, and I couldn't leave my mum. More importantly my mum and dad were on good terms so it made our lives so much easier.
"Thats's good make sure you keep in touch with him. Understand?" She says a little threateningly.
I nod again.
"You working tonight then?" I say making circles in the grass.
"Dave and I are going for date night to this amazing restaurant." She smirks.
"Very fancy." I say nudging her.
Suddenly my phone beeps.
Alyssa messages in the best friends group chat.
Alyssa: Piper I need the red heels tonight please take them out i'll get them when i'm at yours.
I reply with a k x
With that I stand up and pat myself off from the grass that I was sitting on.
"Gonna get ready mum speak laters." I say as I walk away, my mum waves me off and goes back to sunbathing.
An hour later I come out ready in a rainbow striped dress with my hair down naturally wavy. I grab a pair of white wedges and put them on. I then put on a pair of simple silver necklaces and a silver ring on my right index finger. I lightly put on a little powder on my skin and a light pink lipgloss. It was such a nice day, I did not want to be caked in make up. I turn to look in the mirror and smile. All systems go..
