Chapter 38

Piper P.O.V

I knock on the door and push the doorbell again.

"Come on." I shudder as I stand outside the door and it finally opens.

Mark stands in his boxers with one eye open yawning loudly.

"Piper what the hell?" He holds the door half open.

"I'm sorry Mark but I can't find Alyssa or Zara anywhere, they're not answering." I reply panicked.

"Maybe it's because it's 5am Piper!!" He groans and opens the door.

I walk in with my arms wrapped around myself trying to warm myself up from the morning coldness.

"Sorry." I whisper closing the door behind me.

I look up at the stairs and Alyssa comes down in Marks shirt from last night yawning.

"Piper?" She looks at me surprised.

"Surprise heh?" Mark gives me a dirty look as he goes back upstairs to his room.

"I'm sorry Alyssa I needed to speak to someone and Zara isn't answering." I shake my head worriedly.

"I think she's staying at Chris's." She replies quietly coming over to me, wrapping an arm around me as she leads me to the kitchen where I sit on a stool.

"Do you want coffee?" I shake my head.

"Sorry.. it's so early I do know you don't drink coffee, I'm just tired." She smiles and pours herself a mug and stands across from me and takes a sip.

"Okay I'm awake now, what's wrong?" She says looking directly into my eyes.

I hand the folded letter in my pocket to her.

"What's this?" She puts her mug down and takes the letter and unfolds it. After a few seconds she looks at me.

"Is this real?" Her pupils dilate in shock.

I nod.

"Oh my god Piper your going to Yale!!! Your dream is all coming trueeeee." She jumps up and down smirking and then stops as she looks at me.

"Piper?" I pull my head up and tears fall down my face as I cry loudly.

"Fuck Piper!" She puts the letter on the kitchen worktop and comes round and wraps her arms around me.

"What's wrong hun? I thought this is what you wanted?"

I nod as she hugs me, I put my hand on one of her arms around me.

"I thought that too since freshman year all I've wanted to do is go to Yale but now I'm with Zack and I don't want it." I cry louder.

"Oh hunny, you really love him?" I nod as she kisses the back of my head.

"I don't know what to do Alyssa what do I do? I'm scared to lose him, I love him so much."

"Could you ask him to go to Yale?" I shake my head.

"Harvard is his dream. I can't ask him to give up Harvard for me." I mutter.

"Plus everything that happened last night, I'm worried that might change things for us. I'm just so confused and our finals are in two days." I snivel.

Alyssa finally lets me go after a moment of silence, which is filled with my sobs.

"Go home and talk to Zack, see where both of you are at and then decide what your going to do. That's the only way your going to know Piper how you truly feel and how he feels."
