"They're black?" I asked.
He nodded slowly, his eyes wide.
I opened my mouth to respond, but began to cough uncontrollably. I leaned over, gagging and coughing again and again.
"Nellie??" Ollie asked desperately, placing his hand on my back.
My chest thrusted upwards and I threw up a foamy black liquid onto the grassy ground.
"Nellie? What's happening to you??" Ollie asked.
I threw up again. Choking on the liquid that blocked my ability to breath.
Crack! Pop! Crack!
I took my monstrous hand and held it against my gut, revealing it from the hiding place of my pocket. A single tear rolled down my cheek from the pain that my body was making me endure.
"Nellie?" Ollie asked again, his voice urgent.
I felt my feet expand in my shoes. With a loud noise, like the ripping of leather, my shoes ripped from the impact of my feet getting bigger and longer.
I turned my head to see that my feet were now three times their normal size. My toenails had become sharp and black.
I threw up again. My back arched upward and I felt my spine pop unnaturally.
"Run!" I managed to hiss while choking on the nasty liquid.
"No. I won't leave you." Ollie whimpered, his hand on my side.
My ponytail fell out and I watched as strands of my brown hair slowly turned white.
I shut my eyes angrily and I managed to stand up. My back was hunched over and my hands were shaking violently.
I watched as Ollie backed up slowly, he stood up as well.
I felt something odd touch my tongue. I opened my mouth, revealing large sharp teeth that had grown twice their original size.
Though this was happening. Though I was in pain. I felt.. Powerful. Like I could accomplish anything.
I've never felt so exhilarated.
I tilted my head back and cackled inhumanly before lunging at Ollie.
He leaped backwards, dodging my attack. "Nellie stop!" He ordered fiercely.
"I told you to run.." I growled with an evil grin as I stepped closer to him.
He backed away slowly. His eyes wide with fear.
I growled something unintelligent and thrashed my arm out, slicing his cheek with my long claw-like fingernails.
Ollie yelped, placing his hand onto his bloody cheek.
I reached for his torso and effortlessly picked him up, holding him above my head.
"Stop!" Ollie exclaimed.
I snickered and threw him with great force. He landed hard on the ground with a thud.
When I didn't hear anything, I crept over to where I'd thrown him. It was a good 15 feet away.
I towered above his still, bloody, and bruised body. Was he dead?
I listened to the soft breaths escaping his nostrils. He was alive. Just unconscious.
I cackled in delight, gazing at my surroundings. I wasn't contained in my home. I was aware of myself in this form. I was free.
Though the young Nellie was dead, I'd never felt so alive.
It was about time I'd had some real fun.
~~~~~~
I stomped through weeds, roots, and grass until I entered the clearing of the woods.
I stepped out onto the gravel road and my walking turned into a run.
The town lied in front of me. I was ready to cause some chaos.
I ran and ran, my strides big and even. I glanced up at the sky. A vibrant sunset had begun to paint it in beautiful colors.
It put me in an even better mood.
~~~~~~
I burst through the doors of a general store. Only a few customers and employees were inside. When they looked upon my horrifying appearance they all froze, paralyzed.
I snickered at their fear as I looked at my surroundings.
My stomach suddenly let out a low growl. I placed my hand on my stomach and licked my lips hungrily.
I hadn't realized how starving I was.
I slowly approached a young woman working at a register. She was frozen in fear like everyone else.
This would be too easy.
I slowly reached out my hand and gingerly touched her cheek. I felt her shivering underneath me.
My mouth suddenly opened up and my jaw expanded with a popping noise. I picked up the woman and devoured her in an instant, leaving fresh blood dripping from my mouth.
That activated an uproar of screams and panic. Everyone began running out the doors, crying in hysterics.
I licked the blood off my fingernail and smiled.
I forgot how much better human tasted than just any steer.
My eyes suddenly flickered to a mirror behind the counter. Out of curiosity, I stood in front of it to examine myself.
I truly was a monster. I was unstoppable.
I had grown at least a foot taller. My clothing had rips in certain places. Milky-white and ratted hair draped over my revealed bony shoulder. My face was long and thin with two black pools of death for eyes. My completion was crackled and a sickly pale, but my smile.. It was evil. It had curled all the way up to my cheek bones with my sharp teeth jutting out.
I turned to the side. My back was hunched over and I had become so skinny. I could see my spine peeking through my torn shirt.
Is this my true form, is this who I am meant to be?
I had just effortlessly consumed a human being, and guess what? I was only growing hungrier.
Nothing or no one could stop me now.
