I slowly opened my eyes, confused that my head hadn't been blown off.

"The hell is wrong with you??" Nellie screamed, tears streaming down her face. Her crystal blue eyes filled with sadness and anxiety.

"It.. wasn't loaded.." I mumbled, too numb to say much in reply.

"You... Idiot!!" Nellie yelled, falling to her knees and burying her head in her monstrous hands. "What were you thinking??"

I stood numbly with my back pressed up against the brick wall. Emotionless. I opened my mouth to speak but then closed it.

Nellie whimpered and I noticed her hair slowly turning to its original brown.

My eyes widened. I really was her weakness.

But it wasn't enough.

I needed to finish this once and for all.

Adrenaline took over me and I threw myself on top of Nellie, pinning her to the ground.

Confusion crossed her face, and then fury. "How dare you??" She spat. "Get the hell off of me!" Her eyes began to turn to a flaming red.

She was pissed.

I wasn't quite sure what I was planning to do, hopefully I'd figure something out on the spot.

"Ollie! Get off!" She roared, thrusting her body upwards and knocking me backwards. I hit the brick wall with a thud.

Instantly she cornered me against the wall. "Any last words, handsome?" She growled while tracing my neck with her long claws.

I gulped and made my eyes wander around desperately.

"Y'know, this has been a fun game. But.. Unfortunately for you, all games must end." Nellie cackled before unhinging her jaw.

My eyes suddenly flickered to a black speck on Nellie's sickly pale collarbone.

My eyes focused on the speck. It appeared to be a black candle that was sticking out of her pale skin.

I remembered the story that Nellie had told me! The candle on her birthday cake years ago... When she blew it out, bad stuff began to occur! The candle itself must have been possessed or something!

Whatever is in the candle, could be controlling Nellie..

I grabbed at the candle and clutched the top half with my fingers.

Nellie's eyes turned a lifeless and evil black. "What are you doing?" She hissed in an inhuman voice.

"Finishing this!" I declared as I ripped the candle from her crackled pale skin.

An unknown force knocked Nellie backwards and I fell to the ground.

I groaned and crushed the candle as hard as I could. When I did, three small puffs of black smoke evacuated from the remains of the candle and flew off into the breeze.
