I awoke with a gasp and sat up.

My hands were back to normal and my hair was back to its original dark brown.

I sighed. "I made it."

I stretched, pulling my feet to the edge of my bed and letting them dangle. I yawned tiredly and stood up.

I threw on a sweatshirt and trudged into the other room. The game was gone with nothing but a trace of blood on the counter.

I turned my head and saw the boards on the front door. Giant scratches were on it, but it remained boarded up.

I turned around and noticed that a few pillows had been ripped up, and a blanket had been shredded to pieces.

So basically nothing out of the ordinary.

I opened up a cabinet and took a granola bar.

I was in a good mood. I always was after I went through the change. Even though I can't exactly retain anything from the past 48 hours, I know I enjoyed myself.. Well, everything but the confinement of this house.

But of course, that's just the monstrous part of me. The darkness that dwells inside my soul, It's all just a beautiful mystery in my mind.
Sick, huh?

I sat on my worn-down couch and devoured my granola bar. I was relieved that I wouldn't have to deal with this whole thing for about another month.

~~~~~~
I know it's very unlike me, but.. I was planning on going to the town. I usually hated going, but honestly, I needed some fresh air.
Especially after being trapped here for the past 48 hours or so.
I threw some jeans on and then tied my shoes. I took my hammer from the counter and began pulling out the nails one by one from the planks. Until the door was no longer boarded up.
I was excited to leave the house.
I opened the door and stepped out, shutting it behind me.
The early afternoon air was pleasant, and relaxing. I tightened my satchel strap and began walking.
I decided to take the longer way out of the woods, nature was one of the few things I enjoyed.
After walking for about 15 minutes in peace, I heard shuffling from somewhere.
I stopped walking and listened. Turning my head this way and that.
"Hello?" I spoke softly.
More shuffling followed.
I looked around me observantly and carefully.
Ollie popped out behind a tree. "Oh, hey, Nellie!"
I put my hand to my chest, slightly relieved, but then I frowned, "it's just you."
"I'm glad to see you're looking better." He smiled warmly, "I made you some cookies." He held out a plate.
