Amsterdam. The city of freedom.
The clear sky. The cool wind. The feeling of freedom. The canals. The bicycles.
Unique buildings stretched up from the ground, pointing towards the air, varying in color and shape. They were all narrow and tall, with intricate detailing on every window pane and door frame. Around the houses and streets, plants and flowers prospered. Clusters of alliums burst with vibrant colors, bouquets of hydrangeas, ostentatiously showed off their depths of color, and iconic tulips, stood upright, displaying their vivid and vast colors. In front of the houses were antique pavements and roads, from which small cars zipped around, their drivers smiling with happiness. Bicycles moved and travelled freely, their riders eyes gleaming with delight. Beyond them flowed the canals, filled with water, giving off a cooling aroma that invigorated the senses. Little boats that paddled through were like embellishments that enhanced the view. Simply by standing there, a feeling of freedom would resonate through you from the ground up, every step taken more and more liberating.
Not my best piece, but it was inspired by my wonderful time in Amsterdam, I recommend you all to visit as it is such a lovely place!
