Chapter 4 - "I think Armaan's having an affair"

Riddhima was walking here and there trying to enjoy the party, but she couldn't. Despite having her gang there, she was still not able to have fun. And there was only one reason for that. Armaan Mallik. He still hadn't arrived for the party and now she had started to miss him.
Sighing she walked up to Anjali who was smilingly twisting a phuljhari (its a type of fire cracker held in your hands) around making the light travel in a circulate motion.
"Hey Ridzi...enjoying?" She asked smiling as she passed one of the fire crackers to Riddhima, who took it giving her a fake smile.
"Yeah!" She replied lighting the fire cracker and playing around with it. She really wanted to ask Anjali about Armaan but she didn't want o cause any suspicion regarding her and Armaan. However she thought to go for it and ask her.
"Ummm Anji...I have to ask you something?" She hesitantly spoke looking at her who smiled seeing the light.
"Hmmm ask na!"
"Isn't Dr Armaan coming?"
"Hmmm...he said he might come if he gets over his surgery!" Anjali replied not really paying attention. "But why are you asking?" She looked at Riddhima frowning and saw her eyes widen and look away lost of words.
"Umm...no..nothing! Just like that!" She answered nervously. "It's your family's Diwali party na...that's why I was aksing!" Riddhima sighed as she saw Anjali buying her lie.
"Hmmm..."
"Hey I wanna share something with you regarding Armaan." Anjali spoke making Riddhima's ears shoot up.
"Yeah Yeah...you can share it with me!" Riddhima said.
"I THINK ARMAAN'S HAVING AN AFFAIR!" Her voice ran in Riddhima ear's shocking her to the core.
The phuljhari she was holding accidently touched her other hand making her skin burn. "Ahhh" She screamed in pain.
"Be careful!" Anjali said grabbing the phuljhari from her and looking at her palm.
"Wh..why do you think that?" Riddhima fumbled from nervousness and partially from the pain of her burn.
"I don't know...he's seems different a very happy nowadays! I don't know! I feel like he's hiding something! When mom asks him about marriage, he refuses! And when I suggest one of my friends, he runs away!" Anjali spoke shocking Riddhima. Wasn't she always the one who said she'd would never accept one of her friends as Armaan's wife or girl friend?
"Anjali I thought that you didn't want Armaan to date your friends?" Riddhima was taken aback and shocked.
"Hmmm...I meant you guys you know! The friends I suggest are my high society friends! You know they would also look nice with him you know? Both belong from high society...but if like lets say someone lower than him like you or Muskaan... it would not really look nice! And people also talk if you're from different class! You know what I'm saying!" Anjali without thinking kept on speaking unknown to the fact that she had in directly hurt Riddhima's feelings.
