Day 18- Steve Rogers

Steve Rogers prowled through the HYDRA compound, searching for something. Or rather, someone. He heard Bucky's labored breathing through the comm in his ear, but that told him one thing, nothing yet. No sign of Y/N. They had been missing for months, declared MIA in their SHIELD file. Steve refused to believe it. The ring on this left hand told him otherwise. When they had found secret correspondence between HYDRA bases speaking about an Osprey, he knew they had Y/N.
Now, it was him and Bucky, trying their best to search the cleared HYDRA base. Steve opened doors methodically, trying to find a room containing the person he had missed for so long.
Then.
One door opened and revealed a person tied to a chair. Y/N peered up at Steve, but instead of rejoicing, like he expected them to, they flinched back.
"I found them," He spoke slowly into his comm, punching in his coordinates on a device on his wrist.
"On my way," Bucky called back. Steve approached the shivering Y/N, reaching behind them to untie their wrists. He heard them mumbling something, but he couldn't understand them. He chalked it up to nerves. Then Bucky walked in. He immediacy started talking to Y/N in a foreign language, evidently trying to calm them down.
Once Steve had untied their wrists they leapt back.
"Пожалуйста, пожалуйста, не снова, пожалуйста, не, не снова, я сделаю все." Bucky responded in turn, still in Russian, trying to assure Y/N that they were not Y/N's captors, rather saviors. Y/N shook their head and promptly fell to the floor. Bucky lurched forward and caught their fainted form.
"They must have masqueraded as us, making it so that Y/N thought they were being saved, until they wouldn't believe it anymore. They think that we're here to hurt them." Steve stuttered for a moment. That couldn't happen. He stared at his wedding ring that had bound the two of them together for eternity as he followed Bucky out. What did it mean now?
